by Firefox user 18488123, a year agoI've been using this extension for close to 3 months now, I've been meaning to write a review but had forgotten my moz login so kept forgetting to leave one.
I initially only installed this extension while I was working on a research project and some of the obscure independent websites I was navigating to kept accosting me with screaming newsletter notifications that I was sick of (despite never having used their website once in my life outside this occasion lol). I'm so happy with how well it's been working thus far and how far it's exceeded my expectations! Thanks to this extension, I never- and I mean never- have to deal with the awful "wE cArE aBoUt YoUr PriVaCy" boxes that ironically demand you allow the "legitimate interest" of 467 of their ad partners to track you. And while I've never trusted the I Don't Care About Cookies extension because all it really does is push the accept button for you, afaik PopUpOff does not do this! It literally just gets rid of the annoying box/content wall that I'd ordinarily spend 2-3 minutes manually doing myself with the uBlock element picker (and everytime I needed to refresh the page...) So thank you very much for ridding me of this constant headache!
In terms of 'breaking websites' and usability, the only website that I've found myself constantly running into trouble and being reminded I have the extension installed is Reddit. It's their awful damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't UI and I've stuggled at times to get it to display regular content while removing all the interstitial junk. However, after extensive tinkering I've found it functions best on Moderate. If I'm wanting to click on and view photos however I usually have to turn it off. Beyond that I keep it on Aggressive for almost every website, sometimes I'll need to switch to Delicate if I notice a search bar that should be at the header is missing (like streaming sites etc).
All and all, I would say along with Dark Reader and uBlock Origin, this is one of the most valuable extensions I currently have. Absolutely fantastic job, and I love your website as well. Very clean design and I hope more people take a second to check it out! Thanks again for making this available for free to us, I'll try to make a donation if I can in the future!

posted a year agothanks a lot, I appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review :)
donations are helpful but don't worry too much about it, it's not the reason I work for. Enjoy!

- Rated 5 out of 5by nicorafales, 6 hours agoBest pop-up blocker ever. Blasts through paywalls, cookie requests, newsletter subs, removes clutter, it's just so good! And the dev behind it all has some great values going on for them.

Update from February 21, 2026 Add-on v.2.1.3:
Advantages:
+ The best thing is that the removal process is very cleverly designed: cookies/pop-ups are removed, the scroll bar is repaired, and then any blurred overlays (blur elements) are accurately removed.
+ The developer takes extremely good care of updates and responds to feedback quickly and reliably – perfect!
Disadvantages:
- Error v.2.1.3: the chat function is no longer available on ebay.de – entered responses are not posted, even if PopUpOFF is set to “Turn OFF”!!! The chat function only works again after deactivation!!! (-2 stars)
- When using additional add-ons such as “I (still) don't care about cookies,” many shops/social websites still take much longer than usual to load (Amazon, eBay, YouTube, Reddit, etc.). But it's not quite as bad as it used to be. (-0.5 stars)
- The add-on is quite good at detecting and removing stubborn banners/cookies, but simpler ones are NOT blocked (usually those with an “X” to close them!). However, it often recognizes the latest methods for overlays/banners. (-0.5 stars)
Conclusion: This add-on is very powerful and a great tool with a first-class developer (I've been using it since the beginning and long before it was as famous as it is today). For even better detection, I strongly recommend:
1. Fix the bug that prevents ebay.de support chat from working with the add-on!
2. Add the detection rate of “Cookie Banner Blocker” (author: otsmr) to your code. After that, captchas still need to be added to the whitelist (otsmr does not have this). This would probably make the add-on even better than “I (still) don't care about cookies” and “superagent.”

Aktualisierung vom 21.02.2026 Add-On v.2.1.3:
Vorteile:
(-2 Sterne)
- Rated 5 out of 5by conerikcortes, 2 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Lucy Mills, 2 months agoannoying - it opens a popup after installation without the user clicking on anything and without the user requesting to view any page.
- Rated 5 out of 5by EepyGirlLava, 3 months agoThis extension alone is the majority of the reason I can still enjoy using the internet, being able to exist online without ever seeing aggressive popups or advertisements is indescribably nice, especially as someone who isn't a huge fan of large corporations anyways, I've been using it for a long time now without any major issues that weren't caused by user error, I cant recommend it highly enough.
- Rated 5 out of 5by zekromVale, 4 months agoWell, I guess it works for Firefox mobile, while not showing it works for mobile. It removes makerworld's very aggressive download our app pop up. While it does still show up for a second it's better than clicking cancel every time. Though, it looked like one time it failed.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16105683, 9 months agoI'm very pleased! I was trying to read an article that repeatedly blocked my reading with the same popup (about ten times). I did a search for a pop-up blocker and installed this one. I went back to the webpage and the pop-up came back. I then switched to "strict" and bingo, problem solved! THANK YOU!
- Rated 1 out of 5by ThePhanToM, 9 months agoblokkeert hele websites en haalt de gehele vormgeving onderuit. je moet iets bedenken dat de cookie meldingen blokkeert en de cookies.

posted 9 months ago> blocks entire websites and takes away the entire design. you need to come up with something that blocks the cookie notifications and the cookies.
I'm sorry you have troubles with PopUpOFF. Please make sure that you use Dormant or Moderate mode which are created to not break websites. - Rated 5 out of 5by irwanwr, 9 months agoStill the best pop-up blocker that i know. Thanks to developer.
