Developer comments

Qolva requires a small companion app (Qolva Helper) to process videos. The helper runs locally on your PC and handles video conversion, clip merging, and live stream recording.

After installing the extension, you'll be prompted to download the helper. One-time setup, runs in the background automatically after that.

Why a helper app? Browser extensions alone can't re-encode video, merge clips, or record live streams — these need real media tools (ffmpeg, yt-dlp). Keeping them in a local helper means all processing stays on your computer. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server.
