Quick Reminder is a browser extension you can install separately. It works fully without a Focuser account, and in that mode nothing is transmitted to us: your reminders are stored only in your own browser, using the browser's local storage.

Notifications
A reminder with a start time is scheduled as an alarm in your browser, and your browser shows the notification when it comes due. Both happen entirely on your own device. Nothing about them reaches us, and they work the same whether or not you have a Focuser account.

Signing In
If you choose to sign in to Focuser from the extension, we receive your email address and password to authenticate you, and return a session token that the extension stores locally in your browser. This is the same login used by our website and mobile app.

Syncing Reminders
Once signed in, you can choose to sync your reminders. When you do, we receive the reminder's title, notes, location, URL, due date, start time, and flagged status — the fields you entered. Syncing is one-way: reminders are sent from your browser to your Focuser account and are never pulled back down.

Capturing From a Page
The extension can create a reminder from text you select on a web page, via the "Capture Reminder" right-click menu. When you use it, the selected text and that page's address are placed into the new reminder. This happens only when you explicitly choose that menu item. The extension does not read pages you visit, does not track your browsing, and has no access to page content otherwise.

What Stays in Your Browser
Reminders you never sync are never sent to us. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored in your browser.
