About this extension
Quiz Solver for Moodle lets you ace every quiz with AI-powered answers. The extension embeds itself into the quiz and adds extra functionality, such as auto-filling answers, enabling copying, pasting, and selecting, and embedding a hidden chat box at the bottom of the page.
To get started, install the extension and go to https://quizsolverformoodle.com. Register for an account and generate an API key. Paste the API key into the extension and get started. You can configure the model, adjust the reasoning effort, add context (for example: “You are taking a Biology 1 test”), and change options.
All new users are granted 5 free credits to try out the extension. You can add more credits to your account by topping up at https://quizsolverformoodle.com/dashboard. Enable auto-top-up to never run out of credits during a quiz.
Before using the extension for a real quiz, try using the extension on Moodle’s demo site. https://school.moodledemo.net/
To fill in an answer, click on the question text. When you hover over the question text, your cursor will change to a pointer. Click on the question text, and if enabled, your cursor will change to a loading cursor. Whenever you hover over the question text, you will see the loading cursor. Once the AI has finished thinking, the answer will be automatically filled. If the answer is not automatically filled in, you may need to click the question text again.
To open the chat box, scroll to the bottom of the page and hold the Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) key. A button with a chat bubble icon will appear on the left. While holding the Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) key, click on the chat box. The chat box will open, and you can ask any question. You can hide the chat box by clicking on the chat box button again or pressing the Escape key.
Settings:
Model: Select an AI model to use. OpenAI models are the fastest and most accurate.
Reasoning: Select a reasoning level to use. Low is the default. Most users choose Medium.
Context: Add context for the AI. This could be a simple “You are taking a Biology 1 test,” or you could paste the course content.
Options:
Show loading cursor: Changes the cursor to a spinner while the AI is thinking. Disable to be the most discreet.
Fill answer on click: Require a click to fill the answer after AI generates it. Enable to be the most discreet.
