- BROWSER EXTENSIONS
In Short: Our browser extensions display cyber risk scores for websites you visit. They do not track your browsing activity, collect browsing history, or transmit any personal data.
Available Extensions
Rankiteo provides browser extensions (add-ons) for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. These extensions are designed to help you quickly assess the cyber risk posture of any website you visit.
What the Extensions Do
Display the Rankiteo cyber risk score and rating band (Aaa–C) for the domain of the website you are currently viewing
Provide a direct link to the full company cyber risk profile on Rankiteo
Show a summary of key risk indicators when you click the extension icon
What the Extensions Do NOT Do
They do not track, record, or store your browsing history
They do not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII)
They do not monitor your browsing activity across websites
They do not inject ads, scripts, or third-party trackers into web pages
They do not modify web page content in any way
Data Processing
When you click the extension icon, the extension sends only the domain name of the current tab to the Rankiteo API to retrieve the corresponding cyber risk score. No other data from the page, your browser, or your device is collected or transmitted. The request is made over HTTPS and is subject to the same security and privacy protections as our main platform. If you are logged in to your Rankiteo account, your API key is used for authentication; otherwise, the extension uses the free public scoring tier.
Permissions
The extensions request only the minimum permissions required to function: access to the active tab's URL (to extract the domain) and network access (to query the Rankiteo API). No broad browsing permissions such as "read all browsing history" or "access all websites" are requested.
