SaveMate ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses information in order to operate SaveMate. This policy explains how we do this and applies to everyone who uses SaveMate or creates a SaveMate account.

What Information Do We Collect?
We collect the following personal information:

1. Email address and Google account profile information — collected when you connect your Google account to SaveMate.
2. Information you choose to share with us — for example in an email, website form, support ticket, social media, or survey responses.
3. Technical information — about how you use SaveMate, such as device type, operating system, IP address, and session length.
4. Page URLs — when you save a video, use Chromecast, or submit an error report, the URL of the page where the video was found is sent to our servers.
5. Device identifier — a randomly generated unique ID stored on your device, used solely for download rate limiting. This ID is not linked to your personal identity.
6. Video metadata — video titles, thumbnails, and source information when you save videos to your Watch Later list or use cloud features.
7. Download activity — video quality selected when downloading HD content, used for enforcing daily download limits.
8. Error and diagnostic reports — if you report an issue or a download fails, the page URL, browser type, and error details are sent to help us improve the service.
   We collect the minimum data necessary to provide SaveMate's features. Video detection happens locally on your device. When you interact with a video (save, download, or cast), the page URL and video metadata may be transmitted to our servers. We do not collect or store your general browsing history.

How Do We Use Your Information?
We use your information only for the following purposes:

• Providing SaveMate and making sure you can use it properly
• Managing and administering your account
• Responding to questions, comments or complaints
• Communicating with you about SaveMate
• Investigating potentially illegal activities
• Analyzing usage and improving SaveMate
We will never use your information for targeted advertising.

Who Do We Share Your Information With?
We never rent or sell your information.

We don't share your information except:

With third party service providers (hosting, email services) so they can provide services to us.

Access to all websites is required to detect video content on any page you visit. No data is sent to our servers unless you take an action

Optional permission — save video files directly to your chosen download folder. Requested only when you enable the custom download folder setting

Cookies
SaveMate uses cookies to recognize you when you log in. You can block cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly.

Communication
You may receive account and marketing emails. Opt-out anytime by clicking unsubscribe in any email.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
SaveMate's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We limit our use of user data to providing and improving SaveMate's core functionality. We do not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, and we do not sell user data.

Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as necessary:

Cached video detection data — automatically deleted after 24 hours.

Watch Later videos — retained until you delete them or your account.

Error reports — retained for up to 90 days.
•
Device identifier — stored locally on your device indefinitely. Can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.
Children Under 13
We do not intentionally target our services to children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use SaveMate or provide any personal information to us.

Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of SaveMate means you agree to the updated policy.
