About this extension

Simple Birthday Notifier for Firefox

A small, privacy-friendly add-on that reads a plain text file with birthdays and shows notifications:
- Today’s birthdays (with age)
- Upcoming birthdays (configurable days)
- Recent birthdays (configurable days)
- Optional daily reminder at a set time
- Optional check on browser startup: every start or once per day
- Manage entries in the options (add, import/export), see an alphabetic preview
- Built-in log viewer for troubleshooting

File format

Each line contains a name and a date. Supported forms (separator can be comma/semicolon/tab/multiple spaces):
- YYYY-MM-DD ; Name
- DD.MM.YYYY ; Name
- Name ; YYYY-MM-DD
- Name ; DD.MM.YYYY

Permissions rationale

storage: save birthdays and your settings locally
alarms: schedule the daily reminder
notifications: show system notifications
contextMenus: convenience item to open Options from the toolbar

No network access. No analytics. All data stays in your browser profile.

Build & Source

This package is pure WebExtension (MV2 for Firefox). No bundlers, no minifiers, no code generators.
