About this extension
Scroll and Find helps you continue where you left off in long social feeds.

Have you ever returned to X and found that the Following feed refreshed, jumped to the newest posts, and lost your previous position? This extension combines two complementary solutions:

• Keep your place on X

Scroll and Find prevents X from automatically refreshing its Home feed when you return to an open Firefox tab. It works with both "Following" and "For You" and is enabled by default.

Normal browsing still works: you can open posts, load replies and media, load older posts at the bottom, switch feeds, and refresh manually.

• Find an older post automatically

Enter a distinctive phrase from the last post you remember. The extension automatically scrolls the page until it finds that text and highlights it for you.

Your last search phrase is saved locally, so it remains available after closing the popup or restarting Firefox. This is useful if a website refreshes, the tab is closed, or you need to locate your previous position again later.

• Works on other websites

The automatic scrolling and text-search feature is not limited to X. It can also be used on Facebook, Instagram, forums, archives, and other websites with long or dynamically loaded pages.

Important limitation

X scroll protection works only while Firefox keeps the existing tab and webpage alive. An extension cannot preserve the page if you close the tab, Firefox is terminated, or Android discards the browser tab to reclaim memory.

Android tip

If your phone supports pinning an application in the Recent Apps screen, use it for Firefox. On many Samsung phones, open Recent Apps, tap the Firefox icon, and select “Keep open.”

This reduces the chance that Android will terminate Firefox and discard your X feed position. Availability depends on your phone and Android version, and the operating system may still terminate applications in exceptional circumstances.

Privacy

Search text and extension settings are stored only in your local Firefox profile. Scroll and Find does not collect, transmit, or share browsing data, search text, credentials, or telemetry.
