Shelf: Tab Manager by Haru

Auto-archives tabs you haven't used in 8 hours (adjustable). Groups them by site, topic, or time. Search and restore anything in one click. Free, no account, fully private: all data stays local on your device. Pinned tabs and tabs playing audio are never touched.

How it works: Install Shelf and it starts working immediately. Tabs you haven't touched get archived automatically. When you need one back, click it and it reopens instantly.

Click the Shelf icon to see your open and shelved tab counts, a search bar, and three quick actions: 'Shelf tab' archives your current tab (Ctrl+.), 'Shelf others' archives every other tab (Ctrl+Shift+.), and 'Panel' opens the full archive in Firefox's sidebar.

The sidebar shows all archived tabs grouped by site, topic, or time. Click any group to collapse or expand it. Hover over a group to restore everything in it at once. At the bottom: restore all, export as JSON, import, or clear all.

Settings: toggle auto-archive on/off, adjust the timer (5 minutes to 48 hours), set a max tab limit (default 2000), and exclude specific domains.

Theme: toggle light/dark mode with the sun/moon icon, or let it follow your system setting.

Type "sh" in the address bar and press Tab to search your archive from the omnibox. Right-click any page for quick shelf options.

Your data: no servers, no tracking, no analytics. Everything is stored locally using Firefox's built-in storage. Export anytime, delete with one click.
