About this extension
The Room Is Correct is a self-contained metaphysical-horror inspection game about ordinary statements that remain grammatically true after reality has stopped supporting their ordinary meaning.
Five domestic rooms arrive with certified inventories. Select objects directly in the still-life scene and apply six instruments: inspect, move, open, weigh, photograph, and rotate. Pin the resulting observations, then choose the interpretation that accounts for every statement without dismissing the evidence.
The first room contains an unlisted third chair. Removing it reveals a second interior sharing the same exterior wall. A permanently sealed window allows weather to fall on the room side of the glass while the carpet remains dry. A visibly empty box gains mass after each confirmed observation. A clock places an effect before its local cause. The final mirror preserves a certified room containing no acknowledged person.
Every visible anomaly is derived from the same scene graph used by the logic engine. Opening the box changes the box state rendered on Canvas. Turning the clock changes its hand and the causal state of the cup. Photographing and inspecting the mirror add observers to the scene state. These are not promotional-only effects or disconnected narrative counters.
Each plate requires two specific observations before it accepts an interpretation. Unsupported interpretations remain on the current plate and record a semantic error. Supported but incorrect interpretations allow the campaign to continue, producing different final classifications without a dead end.
The interface uses a warm, composed still-life language rather than a dark control panel. Furniture, windows, curtains, weather, instruments, the clock, the cup, and mirror figures are drawn as local vector-like Canvas forms. Object labels appear only while hovering, leaving the room itself visually quiet.
Progress is saved in extension-origin localStorage. State includes the current plate, selected object, scene mutations, evidence, decisions, and error count. Restart returns every room to its certified initial condition.
Included capabilities:
• five handcrafted room plates with distinct semantic failures;
• interactive Canvas scene graph and direct object selection;
• inspect, move, open, weigh, photograph, and rotate actions;
• state-derived visual anomalies involving interiors, rain, mass, causality, and observers;
• evidence-gated interpretation decisions;
• deterministic persistence and reproducible playthroughs;
• multiple endings and recoverable unsupported choices;
• optional locally synthesized room tone;
• no per-frame DOM reconstruction.
The game observes only interactions inside its own packaged scene. It does not inspect webpages, files, cameras, microphones, or browser activity.
