Timebox is a browser extension that helps you stay off distracting websites by blocking them during a focus session — configured the way you actually work, not with a one-size-fits-all block list.


Anyone who wants to spend less time on distracting sites during focused work — students, remote workers, or anyone who's opened social media "just for a second" and lost twenty minutes. Timebox is deliberately simple: no accounts, no cloud sync, no tracking. Everything lives in your browser's local storage.

• Flexible blocking sessions — start a session in whichever way fits the moment:
• Manual — blocks until you turn it off yourself.
• Timed — pick a duration (25/45/60/90 minutes) and it stops automatically.
• Pomodoro — cycles 25 minutes blocked / 5 minutes free, repeating until you stop it.
• Groups — organize blocked sites into categories (Social Media, News, Shopping, Adult are included by default) and toggle a whole group on or off at once, or add sites without a group at all, each with its own toggle.
• Profiles — save a particular on/off configuration of your groups and sites under a name (e.g. "Work", "Weekend") and re-apply it in one click, so you don't have to reconfigure toggles every time your focus needs change.
• A dedicated blocked page — visiting a blocked site redirects to a clear "this is blocked" screen showing how long until access returns, rather than a broken page or silent failure.
• Scheduling - plan ahead and coordinate your blocking sessions in advance, helping you stay on schedule around your anticipated working hours.
