by Nauta Caeli, a year agoThis extension is a game-changer for anyone who values efficient knowledge management. The tool allows you to clip content directly from the web and save it to your Obsidian vault, ensuring you always have access to your resources—even offline.
What makes this extension stand out is its intuitive design. The user interface is simple and straightforward, making it easy to clip and categorize information with just a few clicks. Whether you're researching a project, bookmarking interesting articles, or building a knowledge base, the extension integrates seamlessly into your workflow.
One of its most powerful features is the ability to customize how the content is saved using filters. This means you can automatically organize and format your clipped content to match your unique Obsidian setup.
However, it’s worth noting that writing filters requires a bit of coding knowledge. While this might be a hurdle for complete beginners, those with even basic scripting skills will find the possibilities incredibly rewarding. Plus, the Obsidian community provides excellent support to help you get started.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Davide, 3 days agoDoes not work when Obsidian is installed via Flatpak on Ubuntu 22.04:
The address wasn’t understood
Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (obsidian) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
You might need to install other software to open this address.
EDIT: i think this is a "Obsidian in Flatpak" issue... registering the URI does not fix it; it creates an empty Obsidian document (also with a truncated name containing only the name....)Developer response

1. Make sure that obsidian:// URIs are registered.
2. If you use Wayland, make sure that Obsidian has the permissions to read the clipboard when the app is not focused. - Rated 5 out of 5by Fabiano, 9 days agoOne of the most amazing pieces of technology out there.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19676083, 19 days agoHas become critical to my workflow for capturing things to read later. Saves a step since if I decide to keep the item in my vault I don't have to convert it into Obsidian, as compared to other read-it-later tools that add that step.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Jay, 3 months agoIt is so unfortunate that automatically capturing images locally is not supported by the official Obsidian plugin ! Being an ex-Evernote heavy user, I still miss their almost perfect web clipper. For those with the need to quickly capture full pages in md to Obsidian, MaoXian Web Clipper is an interesting alternative.

posted 3 months agoObsidian Web Clipper does not save images, only text. To save images, use the Obsidian command/hotkey "Download attachments for current file". If you are running into any issues with this, please use report issues on the Obsidian forum. Thanks! Developer response
