About this extension
Where's My Data? helps you identify sites that may have accessed your personal data while you browse and allows you to group them efficiently to send bulk deletion requests.

The extension can perform on-demand scans of your browser and detect, in real time, pages containing fields likely to collect personal data, or signals indicating that personal data may have been transmitted.

With version 1.4, Where's My Data goes further by adding cookie analysis, optional real-time network analysis, and support for data brokers and vendors, as well as an optional connection to the wheresmydata-extension.com web interface.

🔎 Improved detection

The extension improves the identification of pages and interactions potentially linked to the collection or transmission of personal data.

🍪 Cookie analysis

Where's My Data? can analyze cookies associated with websites to provide additional information about domains that may be linked to your data.

🌐 Data brokers & vendors

The extension takes data brokers and vendors into account to provide a broader view of the companies and services that may be involved in processing or accessing your data.

📜 History analysis

You can analyze your browsing history to find sites that may have displayed data collection forms or may hold information about you.

📧 Mailbox analysis

Where's My Data? can analyze an inbox to extract domains associated with professional senders found in your emails. These domains can then be identified and analyzed by the extension to provide a better understanding of companies and services that may be associated with your data.

⚡ Real-time analysis

Choose to enable or disable real-time (Live) analysis based on your needs.

You can also optionally enable real-time network analysis to analyze network activity and identify additional signals related to potential data transmission.

🔗 Web interface

Connect the extension to the Where's My Data? web interface if you want to take your investigation further.

Domains identified by the extension can be retrieved in the web interface, where you can generate requests to exercise your data protection rights, including:

requests for access to your personal data;
requests for deletion of your personal data.
You can also add domains directly from the web interface and retrieve them in the Emails / Manual section of the extension.

📋 Stay in control

You can:

view detected sites;
analyze your browsing history;
analyze cookies;
optionally analyze network activity in real time;
export your history in TXT or CSV format;
filter results;
identify sites where potential data transmission was detected;
identify relevant data brokers and vendors;
view details for each domain;
add domains manually;
synchronize domains with the web interface;
generate data access or deletion requests from identified domains;
permanently delete your local history;
enable or disable real-time analysis.

🔒 Your privacy comes first

Where's My Data? is designed with privacy in mind.

The extension does not collect or store:

your email address;
your passwords;
values entered into forms;
the content of forms you fill out.
The extension primarily processes and stores information locally in your browser, such as detected domains, detection dates, cookies and potential transmission indicators.

The connection with the web interface is optional and must be explicitly enabled by you. When enabled, information required to provide the web interface features may be exchanged with the service.

Your browsing history is analyzed locally by the extension and is not sent to a server as part of the local history analysis.

⚠ Beta version

Where's My Data? is currently in beta. Detection is intentionally conservative and may generate false positives.

The goal is to provide a useful overview of sites that might have accessed or processed your data, rather than to determine with certainty exactly what data is being stored by each site.
