About this extension
Yoslion Download is the Firefox companion for the Yoslion Download desktop application. The extension downloads nothing itself — it hands the download to the application, which does the work.
The desktop application is required. Without Yoslion Download installed and able to run on the same computer, the extension has nothing to hand a download to, and it says so rather than failing quietly.
It takes over the downloads you start, and this begins switched on. When you start a download in Firefox, the extension passes it to the desktop application instead, so the file is fetched once rather than twice. On a new installation this is on. One click in the toolbar popup turns it off, your choice is remembered, and an update never changes it.
Right-click a link → Download with Yoslion. The other way to use it, and it works whether the takeover above is on or off. The menu item appears on links only.
Nothing is sent to a server. The web address reaches the local application over Firefox's native messaging channel and stops there. The extension makes no network requests of its own, and contains no analytics and no advertising.
Firefox 140 or later, on desktop. The application it needs is published for Windows and Linux; macOS is not claimed, because the only macOS build on offer is an older one that Gatekeeper refuses to run from a download.
