About this extension
TimeSaver for YouTube is a smart automation extension designed for people who watch long videos and want full control over what they see — without manually scrubbing the timeline. Define which timestamps to jump to, set how long to stay on each section, and let the extension cycle through them automatically.
Who is it for?
People who watch long tutorials, lectures, or podcasts and want to skip uninteresting parts
Viewers who want to quickly review a video before committing to the full watch
Anyone who watches YouTube playlists and wants hands-free navigation between videos
Key Features
Automatic key cycling — define which YouTube keyboard shortcuts (0–9) to press and in what order
Custom intervals — set how many seconds to stay on each section per video duration range
Smart duration detection — automatically selects the right cycling profile based on video length (<2min, 2–5min, 5–15min, 15–45min, >45min)
Next Video — automatically advances to the next video in a playlist when the cycle ends
Infinite Mode — loops the playlist indefinitely
Auto-Start — begins cycling automatically every time a new video loads
Progress ring — a visual countdown ring on the floating widget shows how much time is left in the current section
Widget visibility control — show or hide the floating widget from the extension popup without stopping the cycle
Position control — set the exact X/Y coordinates of the widget from the popup
Opacity slider — adjust the transparency of the floating widget
Settings are saved automatically and persist across sessions
How it works
The extension adds a small floating widget to YouTube pages. Press "Cycle: ON" to start. Based on the video's duration, it automatically selects a preset profile and begins pressing the configured keyboard shortcuts at the specified intervals — jumping through the video section by section. When all sections are done, it can optionally move to the next video in your playlist.
Permissions used
Storage — to save your settings locally
Tabs — to communicate between the popup and the active YouTube tab
Access to youtube.com and youtube-nocookie.com — required to inject the floating widget
*No data is collected, stored on external servers, or shared with any third party.
