One of the privacy essentials; works as advertised.

Unfortunately, the current version causes a warning to be displayed in the console at every page/frame load: "loading pref showConsoleLogs before prefs were initialised, you will not get the correct result" (using FF 57). This is distracting and should be fixed. There doesn't seem to be a public issue tracker for Ghostery, so this will have to do.

A priori c'est un module honnête (je cherche à comprendre les avis négatifs par acquis de conscience qui semblent suspecter le développeur..) facile à configurer et qui fait bien le job comme on dit. Il est "user friendly" et très efficace. Je n'ai pas assez de recul pour le comparer à des modules similaires mais l'utilisant depuis des années j'ai vu sa positive évolution et le résultat qu'il m'apporte : je suis entièrement satisfait. Alors pourquoi 4 étoiles seulement au lieu de 5 ? Car il semble, mais je ne peux pas l'assurer, mais il me semble qu'il fait un petit peu plus ramer ma navigation.. ce qui est "normal" en soit mais je l'ai souvent remarqué. A optimiser ou a rendre moins gourmand à l'avenir ? En tous les cas c'est un bon module et je le recommande vivement (je l'installe sur téléphone aussi et sur les PC de ma famille en général). This extension is user friendly and I like that it shows who's tracking my browsing experience which is very bothersome, when I check my email and whatever is being reviewed shows up in Facebook ads. Thank you!

easy to use, unobtrusive. seems to block most of the trackers. easy to change the settings and change what pages you want to block on.

While Ghostery appears to block many trackers, analytics (particularly offensive to me), and ads, I do get numerous cookies. I added Ghostery and Ad Block Plus, as well as exploring my browser history and periodically (Sometimes many times in a session) erasing it, because it is the invisible and unwanted "phishing" that sites do that we should eliminate, for many good reasons.

Ghostery was the first add-on I used to expose this spying, and remains the most effective non-erasure technique I use.

It does appear that some information-seeking characteristics used by Google, for instance, does escape Ghostery. This suggests that there are other types of tracking and identification going on.

Some malicious material does infect, coming from the internet, and I also suggest that people periodically remove the batteries and unplug their devices from ALL electrical input. This is a simple way to reboot without having to pay $60 for a cleanup.

All that said, Ghostery was the single add-on that helped me to understand the collection of information and the surreptitious installation of unwanted collection of information, that goes on. Use it!.
