Ask ChatGPT Sidebar (Unofficial) lets you highlight text on any webpage, right-click it, and send it to ChatGPT inside Firefox's native sidebar.

You can create your own reusable prompt template and control how ChatGPT responds to selected text.

• Highlight webpage text and right-click Ask ChatGPT about selected text.
• Open ChatGPT inside Firefox's sidebar without leaving the current webpage.
• Create and save a custom prompt template.
• Use {text} to insert the highlighted text.
• Use {title} to include the webpage title.
• Use {url} to include the webpage address.
• Open or close the sidebar with the toolbar button.
• Use Ctrl+Shift+Y to toggle the sidebar.

The custom prompt is stored locally in Firefox. The extension does not use analytics, advertisements, trackers, or a developer-operated server.

Selected webpage text is sent to ChatGPT only after the user deliberately chooses Ask ChatGPT about selected text. If the custom prompt contains {title} or {url}, that webpage information is also sent.

An internet connection and access to ChatGPT are required.
