AutoCV: Tailor your resume — privacy policy for this add-on

What it sends, and when

Nothing leaves the browser until you click. When you press "Capture this posting", the add-on sends to https://autocv.online:

• the text of the job posting on the page you are looking at;
• that page's URL, so the application can reopen the posting later;
• the key the site issued to this browser, which is how your account is identified.

That is the whole list. There is no background activity, no reading of pages you have not asked about, no browsing history, no analytics and no telemetry. The add-on talks to no server other than autocv.online.

What happens to it

The posting text is stored with the application in your AutoCV account, and is sent to our AI provider, OpenRouter (https://openrouter.ai), which routes it to the model that writes your CV and cover letter. We send only what the task needs and use it for nothing else. Your career data and generated documents are kept while your account exists; you can export or delete everything from the Settings page.

Permissions, in plain terms

• activeTab and scripting: read the posting from the tab in front of you, and only after you click the toolbar icon.
• storage: holds the key the site issued to this browser. Nothing else is stored.
• Host permission for autocv.online: the only host the add-on contacts.
• The content script runs on autocv.online alone. It tells the site that the add-on is installed and whether it already holds a key, and it collects the key at the moment the authorization page shows it.

The add-on reads no cookies. Earlier versions used the website's session cookie; from 0.5.0 it carries its own key instead, granted once from your account settings and revocable there at any time. Revoking it stops the add-on from reaching your account.
