Sobre esta extensión
Choice does not decide which companies are good or bad. You decide what matters to you.
Start with 15 plain Yes, No or Not sure questions covering labor, climate, privacy, political activity, civil rights and other company actions. Review or refine any answer from the larger searchable catalog whenever you want. Your answers stay in your browser; Choice never receives them.
When Choice has a published record for the company behind a site, it compares sourced actions with the values you selected on your device. A warning appears only when complete evidence conflicts with something you selected. Open it to see the action, actor, date, confidence and published source. Missing evidence stays unknown—it is never presented as a clean record. Alternatives must pass product-fit, ownership, evidence and improvement checks.
What it does:
• 15-question starter setup plus a searchable belief catalog
• Source-backed warnings only for your own explicit answers
• Exact action, actor, date and source behind each warning
• Evidence-aware alternatives, with unknown coverage labeled honestly
• No overall good/bad company grade or political compatibility score
• No account, no paid tier, no subscription and no advertising
Data choice before use:
Choice explains its domain check and waits for you to agree — at the end of setup, or the first time you open the popup. Before that affirmative choice, it reads no site domain and makes no operational network request. Pressing "Not now" keeps checks off. Disabling Choice stops every request; uninstalling also removes its stored data.
If allowed, Choice automatically sends only the visited site's bare registrable domain—for example, "amazon.com"—to youneedchoice.com over HTTPS to request an existing company record. This browsing activity is used only to retrieve the company record requested by the extension. Choice never sends the full URL, path, page content, searches, form data, your belief answers, an account, login, device ID, analytics cookie or advertising identifier. Cloudflare processes the bare-domain request and network metadata in transit to deliver and protect the service. Choice's origin access logs omit request bodies and client identity. An unknown domain is not saved or turned into a research job.
The extension sends no analytics, usage events or automatic error reports. Aggregate coverage is requested only after domain-check consent. Company-search text is sent when you use the extension's search. If you press a feedback control, Choice sends the company and finding identifiers, the reason you select and an optional bounded note; it attaches no account, device identifier, analytics cookie or session.
