Compo Grid does not collect, sell or transmit any personal data.

What the extension reads. To draw its grids, it reads the size and position of images and videos on the pages you visit. To calibrate the notan filter, detect the black bars of films and save a processed image, it reads their pixels. All of this happens inside your browser: no image, page address or browsing history ever leaves your device. To read an image's pixels, the extension may request it a second time from the site that hosts it, without credentials, so that the browser allows reading it: this request goes only to that site, the one of the page you are visiting.

What the extension stores. Your settings (selected grids, colors, reading aids, site lists) are stored by your browser. If you enabled your browser's sync (Firefox account), they are synced across your devices by that service, under its own terms. We have no access to them.

No server, no tracking. The extension contacts none of our servers and uses no cookies, analytics or advertising.

Third-party content. The extension's welcome page shows a public-domain artwork hosted by Wikimedia Commons: your browser downloads it from Wikimedia's servers, which see your IP address as with any image on the web.
