Sadly it doesn't work properly anymore as the developer has stopped updating this extension on Firefox.

This was a great add-on until the developer stopped updating it. Now it's interrupting videos for me, and they have decided they won't update to the same version as their other browsers because they don't like the review policy. This is bizarre, since Firefox is the only remaining major browser with a liberal extension API, and most developers are having to burn down their extensions on Chrome instead.

This addon no longer functions at all. I don't know if youtube is blocking it or the newest Mercury release broke it.

I like this addon and I've been using it for years now, sadly it doesn't work most of the time since last year and the developer has abandoned this addon for Firefox.

Used to function beautifully allowing for a bunch of customizability and functionality. Now, it no longer works. From a bunch of other reviews, it seems like this extension is no longer being updated by the dev? What a shame.

Doesnt work, people say it wont be fixed. Very sad.
Anybody can recommend replacement that allows convenient playback speed control with ctrl+mouse wheel in x0.1 increments with speed limit at x4 or higher?
Another important thing is control of saturation and contrast. Please help!

The version 3 on chromium based is pretty good, but this is all buggy and bad. Not using again until the firefox version is updated.

Extension is abandoned by the developer.

All was fine until I heard that support for Firefox was halted indefinitely. Very disappointed, honestly. Might as well take it down at this point.

Was a great extension, but it's abandonware now

This used to be a wonderful extension and I think it still can be, but for me the toolbar will not show up on nearly any videos while I'm signed in.

I know it must be difficult developing this to adapt to changes on Youtube, but at this point it is only a CSS skin extension, and nothing more.

I hope it is fixed eventually, but it's been some time now with no fix in sight.


Update; 23 February 2025:
clips are now broken, forcing them to play the original video instead of the clip. the CSS skins also seem to work only occasionally now, and the controls and other functionality still rarely show up on videos, and when they do work, it will never be on more than one tab at a time.

I also found that while the features rarely work, the bug where clips don't work is always there.

I have tried this with all of my other extensions turned off and in private browsing. it far more often than not does not work. the only thing that seems to improve its functionality is not being signed into my google account, but even this is hit or miss.

I really hope this addon gets the love it deserves, but for now I am reducing my review to 1 star and uninstalling because it brings bugs but effectively no features.

very often this thing doesn't start. you need to enable/disable the addon and reload the page several times

Doesnt work in new tabs....youtube will "grey out" for a bit.....then load video and this addon will not work. Looks like the developer abandoned this.....Oh well I will use 3 seperate addons to get this functionality back.

The addon will appear here for a short time, until the developer's next tantrum. I advise you to look for alternatives, there are addons much better than enhancer. For example, Tweaks for YouTube.

Great experience in the past. Haven't been updated in a while (or if it ever will)
