Privacy Policy for Exten AI

Exten AI is a local-first browser extension. We do not create user accounts, we do not operate a backend server, and we do not monitor, track, sell, or collect user activity.

All extension data, including the Groq API key, chat history, archived chats, selected page content, screenshots, and console context, is stored locally on the user’s own device using browser storage.

When the user chooses to use AI features, the selected prompt, page context, console logs, screenshots, or other attached content may be sent directly to Groq using the API key provided by the user. This is required for the AI assistant to respond. Exten AI does not receive or store this data.

When the user chooses to use web search, search queries may be sent to the selected search provider so results can be returned to the assistant. This only happens when the user uses the search feature.

The user is responsible for deciding what information they attach, submit, or share through the extension. Users should not submit sensitive, private, or confidential information unless they are comfortable sending it to the relevant third-party service.

Exten AI does not guarantee the accuracy of AI responses. Users are responsible for verifying outputs and for how they choose to use the extension.

Exten AI is completely open source. The source code is available at apoorv.sbs in the repositories section.
