LaterVault Privacy Policy

LaterVault is a browser extension that saves web articles into a reading
library stored on your own device. The short version of this policy: we
collect nothing, we run no servers of our own, and your saved reading never
leaves your device. The only things that ever leave your browser are
described below, and none of them go to us.

WHAT DATA LATERVAULT STORES

Articles you save (their text, title, source address, and the date you saved
them) and your reading preferences (theme, text size) are stored locally in
your browser using its built-in storage. This data never leaves your device
through us. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no telemetry,
no advertising identifiers, and no crash reporting.

NETWORK REQUESTS

LaterVault makes network requests in only two situations, and you start both
of them:

• Importing text. If you import a reading list from another service (such as
  a Pocket or Omnivore export file) and press "Download text", the extension
  fetches each of your imported article addresses directly from the website
  that publishes it, so the text can be stored on your device for offline
  reading.
• Activating Pro. If you buy LaterVault Pro, you paste the license key you
  received into the extension and press Activate. The extension sends that
  key, and nothing else, to the license service run by our payment provider
  (Lemon Squeezy) to confirm it is valid, and rechecks it periodically. The
  key is used for this and nothing else; no information about you or what you
  read is sent.

Both go straight from your browser to those services. There is no intermediary
of ours, and nothing about them is reported to us. The license check exists
only for Pro: if you use only the free features, it never happens, and if you
never import a reading list, LaterVault makes no network requests at all.

YOUR DATA IS PORTABLE

You can export your entire library to a plain JSON file at any time from the
library page, and delete any or all of it whenever you want. Uninstalling the
extension removes its stored data from your browser.

PAID FEATURES (LATERVAULT PRO)

LaterVault offers optional one-time paid features. Payment is handled entirely
by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. When you buy Pro, your
payment details are collected and processed by Lemon Squeezy under its own
privacy policy (https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy); LaterVault never sees
or stores your card or billing information. After purchase you receive a
license key by email, which you enter into the extension to unlock Pro
features as described under "Network requests" above.

CHANGES AND CONTACT

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at
