Smart Feature Tips
Makro now gently suggests features that would help based on what you're doing. Got 15+ macros? You'll see a tip about searching by meaning. Editing a long email template? A hint about AI rewrite appears. These tips respect your attention - dismiss a few and they stop forever.

AI Privacy, Front and Center
Every AI feature now shows a clear privacy note: "Processed securely, never stored or used for training" for cloud, or "Runs entirely on your device" for local AI. No guessing.

Monthly Recap
On the first popup open each month, you'll see a quick recap: total expansions, time saved, your most-used macro, and your busiest day. A small reminder of the value Makro quietly delivers.

Your First Macro Gets the AI Treatment
After saving your first macro, Makro offers to polish it with AI - adapting the suggestion to your content. Short text, long text, or placeholders each get a different offer. If the AI hiccups, you'll see "Looks good as-is!" instead of an error.

Smarter Trial Experience
Trial users now see a checklist of Pro features to explore: AI rewrite, cloud sync, semantic search, and backups. When the trial ends, you'll see exactly which features you used and what you'd lose - not a generic upgrade prompt.

- New installs now default to Local AI Only - AI rewrite works on your device out of the box(Ollama required), no cloud requests unless you opt in
- New privacy step during first-run setup so you choose your analytics preferences upfront
- Analytics split into two levels you control independently in Settings > Privacy Controls:
- Basic: anonymous aggregate counts (how many macros, how often you expand)
- Detailed (off by default): which features you use (theme, AI provider, clipboard history, etc.)

Search now finds macros even with partial or fuzzy matches and ranks results by relevance. Titles and hotwords are weighted higher so the best match appears first.

Fixed: Inserting macros from search overwrites content in rich editors — Using the search overlay to insert a macro in editors like Zendesk or CKEditor no longer replaces your existing text.
Fixed: Inline AI rewrite replaces wrong text in Firefox — The rewrite feature in CKEditor5 on Firefox now correctly replaces only the selected text.
