Monitor & Downloader for Instagram adds a download button to Instagram and, if you want it, forwards new media from accounts you follow to your own Telegram chat. Everything runs in your browser. There is no account to create, no server in the middle, and nothing is sent to the developer.

Downloading. Open any post, reel, story or highlight and click Download. Photos and videos are fetched at the highest resolution Instagram offers. Select several photos in a carousel and they come down as a single zip. On the home feed the add-on works out which post you are looking at as you scroll, so you do not have to open it first.

Account monitoring (optional). List the Instagram accounts you care about on the settings page, connect a Telegram bot, and the add-on checks them on a schedule you set. New posts, reels and stories are forwarded to one Telegram chat — the one you configured, and no other. Monitoring starts from the moment you add an account, so it never dredges up old posts, and it works for public accounts and for private accounts you personally follow.

Fetch existing media (optional). Monitoring only picks up what is posted after you add an account. When you want what is already on a profile, enter a username on the settings page and click Fetch: the most recent posts (or all of them), the current stories, and every saved highlight are sent to that same chat.

Once a day, a status message. If Telegram is set up, you get one message each morning telling you whether monitoring is running, whether you are still logged in to Instagram, and what was forwarded since the last one. It arrives even when Instagram has logged you out, which is exactly when you want to know.

What it needs, and why. Access to instagram.com so it can read the page and call Instagram's own API as you; access to your Instagram cookies for that same reason — they are only ever sent back to Instagram, never anywhere else; access to api.telegram.org and the Instagram image servers to deliver media; and the download permission to save files you ask for. Leave the Telegram fields empty and none of the forwarding code ever runs.

What it cannot do. It takes no instructions from any server, loads no remote code, and has no backend. The full data-handling breakdown is in the privacy policy.

Limitations worth knowing. Monitoring only runs while your browser is open and you are signed in to Instagram. Private accounts you do not follow stay invisible, as they should. Stories are forwarded on a best-effort basis; Instagram restricts access to them.
