por Usuario de Firefox 14320088, hace 8 añosWill not allow loading local files on Ubuntu / Linux.
No, "Mozilla doesn't allow this functionality" is not an answer. I have a different extension, with the same local file, working perfectly fine on Windows 8.1 but it refuses to load on Ubuntu. This extension doesn't even make an attempt to load the file. It's HTML, CSS, JS so the semi support doesn't work (and isn't a real fix because I want changes to be made immediate which is why it's a local file in the first place). The only use I have for this extension does not work so it is immediately uninstalled.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: I don't think I can reply to developer comments so I will here instead.
Firstly, I don't need to make a GitHub issue because this isn't GitHub. This is the review section of mozilla.org where I review the extension I downloaded that doesn't do what I wanted it to. Secondly, I did say exactly what is wrong. If the path does not start with http:// or https:// the extension refuses to load without even trying. This is not a technical reason, this is a developmental choice and why the other extension loads on Windows (because it doesn't give up the moment I input my file path). Lastly, the other extension works on Windows 8.1 and 10 merely by inputting file:// (path to file) despite it too saying it's not supported. The steps to reproduce the two star review are: 1) choose new URL 2) input anything that's not http:// or https:// 3) immediately uninstall and leave a poor review reflecting this design choice.
Thank you for making the extension (I didn't rate it one star) but the extensions design choice makes it unusable for local file hosting which works despite it not being officially supported. All I need(ed) it to do was auto open an HTML file from my machine (not cache but actually open to access ./css, ./js, etc) but I have since worked around this issue.

publicado el hace 8 añosAnd where is your GitHub issue where you are showing the other add-on and you local file? Sorry, it's not okay to give such reviews and telling the add-on does something wrong and not to say what exactly is wrong. And honestly, I can't believe that it works on Windows and not on Linux. So please provide the test case and steps to reproduce before giving bad reviews…

publicado el hace un mesThe add-on just opens tabs. If this is "sluggish", then it's "sluggish" without the add-on as well … I really don't understand the reason for this bad review …- Se valoró con 5 de 5por Micka149, hace 2 meses

Hello, i have a suggestion
Some users like me press ctrl+T and fastly type the site/search that we want to enter in the new tab (sometimes we just want a new tab to search something, not always the defined new tab one).
Since i started to use the extension i had to adapt myself to press "ctrl+t" - "ctrl+a" and then type what i want to search. (so the search do not go like www.site.comSEARCH
Would be good if in the menu options had a check-box to press F6 or CTRL+L after ctrl+t and then backspace automatically.
For this situation i'm using a AutoHotKey script that does this everytime i press ctrl+t in a browser. But if the program had it pre configured would be good.

publicado el hace 3 mesesThank you very much!
I am not sure if that is possible but I will investigate. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Jonas, hace 5 mesesGreat extension. Does exactly what it is supposed to do without loads of unnecessary settings. I hope mozilla fixes the "select url"-issue.

- Se valoró con 3 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 18538818, hace 6 mesesIt worked for about 10 mins (with google.com as new page) and then is stopped, leaving me back in the FF default home page. Maybe they'll fix it, idk.
Edit: Didn't change anything on the system. I fiddled with it for quite some time after. Also asked ChatGPT, ruled out AdBlockers, still could not work it out. Sorry but this shouldn't take more then a few minutes to set up. May FF is blocking it in some way.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 6 mesesI don't understand this poor rating. If the extension worked at first, then it can't be the extension's fault if it no longer works. You must have changed something on your system. The extension doesn't stop working on its own. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Rudolf_Snail, hace 6 mesesDoes exactly what I expect it and want it to do — great extension.
- Se valoró con 4 de 5por Crinoid, hace 7 mesesGenerally works very well, but the settings link on the tools dropdown list doesn't work
edit :
go to the menu bar, click Tools
at the bottom of the list is "New Tab - Settings"
when I click on it, nothing happensRespuesta del desarrollador

- Se valoró con 4 de 5por Chizzy, hace 8 mesesClose to perfect. I just wish it would highlight the address in the URL bar when making a new tab (google). I just want to start typing in the URL bar and currently it types before the current URL and doesn't replace it. I have to manually highlight the URL then start typing. Switching it to focus on the website is ok but it doesn't work with google to type a web address, it always just searches for it on google.

publicado el hace 6 mesesThank you for the review. Unfortunately, this is not technically possible for an extension. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Cillu, hace 9 meses
