Nook - Focused Reading por Talwinder

Nook is a reading layer for the internet.

It works on the page you are already on, whether that is your inbox, a shared doc, a team wiki, a forum thread, a newsletter, a research paper, or the news. It also works on the PDFs, EPUBs, and DOCX files you bring with you.

Open the toolbar on any page and switch on what you need: a natural voice reading aloud, a pacer that holds your place, fewer words at a time, bigger type. Then just read.

Built for people who open a lot of tabs and finish almost none of them.

NEW IN NOOK

🎧 LISTEN: natural voices in 39 languages
Press play on any page and hear it read in a real voice, not a GPS. Every word lights up as it is spoken, so your eyes and ears stay on the same line. Click any word to jump there. Speed runs 0.75× to 2×, and your keyboard's media keys control playback.

✨ AI SUMMARIES: a door into the page, not a replacement for it
Get the key takeaways plus a skim map of the sections and how long each one takes. Click any point and Nook scrolls to the exact passage it came from, so you can start in the middle instead of stalling at the top. Works on any web page.

🔲 SELECT READING AREA: read just this part
Drag a box around the text you want. Nook reads that, and nothing else. This is the answer for dashboards, chat threads, comment sections, and every page where ordinary reader modes give up.

🔖 SAVED: a reading list you can actually find things in
Save the page you are on with one click. Search the list, sort by recently saved, recently read, title, or shortest first, and pick any of it back up on another device.

THE READING TOOLS

⚡ Autopace: guides you line by line so you stop losing your place
🔡 Bionic text: bolded word beginnings give your eyes an anchor
🧩 Chunking: long paragraphs arrive a few lines at a time
🔠 Fonts: seven reading faces, including Lexend, Atkinson, and OpenDyslexic
📏 Formatting: line height, text width, letter and word spacing
🌙 Themes: calm backgrounds and dark mode

Listen, autopace, chunking, bionic text, fonts, and formatting all run directly on other people's websites. Themes and backgrounds apply inside the Nook reader.

BRING YOUR OWN FILES

Paste a link, or upload a PDF, EPUB, or DOCX. Textbooks, papers, filings, and long reports get the same tools as a web article, and your place is saved as you go.

WHY READING ONLINE IS HARD

A wall of text gives your eyes nowhere to rest. You lose the line, restart the paragraph, and read the same sentence three times before deciding to come back to it later.

That is a design problem, not a willpower problem. Nook changes how the text behaves instead of asking you to focus harder.

WHO IT IS FOR

🧠 People with ADHD who lose the line and start the paragraph over
👁 People with dyslexia who want the text to hold still
🎓 Students with more assigned reading than hours in the day
💼 Professionals working through reports, contracts, and research
😴 Anyone whose eyes slide off the page by the evening

PRIVACY

• Page text is sent only when you save, summarize, or listen to that page
• To improve article detection, Nook records the site and path of pages you visit along with what the detector decided. Query strings and search terms are stripped in your browser before anything is sent. You can switch this off in Settings, which also erases what was already collected
• Your data is never sold
• Secure, encrypted sign-in
