PageGuard by Bytek analyzes web pages locally on your device and helps you stay aware of potential risks while browsing.

What it does:
- Scores each page from 0-100 based on risk signals (suspicious URLs, phishing patterns, scam indicators)
- Monitors your clipboard when pasting — detects credit cards, passwords, IBANs, API keys, crypto addresses, and 20+ sensitive data types
- Smart paste mode lets you choose exactly which items to hide before pasting
- Identifies tracker scripts and fingerprinting attempts on pages you visit
- Warns about suspicious redirect chains before they reach dangerous destinations
- Alerts when you type sensitive data like emails or passwords into form fields
- Blocks unwanted popups from suspicious pages
- Blocks automatic drive-by downloads with option to allow legitimate files
- Per-site rules let you customize protection for sites you trust
- Statistics page shows what was detected and when

How it works:
All analysis runs locally in your browser using pattern matching and heuristics. The extension does not make any network requests, does not use any external APIs, and does not send any data anywhere. Settings and statistics are stored locally using the browser storage API.

Permissions and why they are needed:
- activeTab — to read the current page content for risk analysis
- storage — to save your settings and event history locally on your device
- tabs — to display risk score badges and detect tab-based threats
- webNavigation — to monitor and block suspicious redirect chains
- downloads — to intercept and block automatic malware downloads
- All URLs — content script needs to run on every page for clipboard protection and page analysis

You can clear all locally stored data anytime from the Settings page.
