Racionalist Browser Activity por Racionalist
Racionalist Browser Activity Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Racionalist collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Racionalist Browser Activity extension for Chrome, Chromium-based browsers, or Firefox (the "Extension") together with the Racionalist OS Tracker desktop application (the "Desktop App").
The Extension is designed for one purpose: to help you track your own browser activity in Racionalist OS Tracker when you have enabled browser monitoring in the Desktop App.
Information We Collect
When browser monitoring is enabled in the Desktop App, the Extension may read and send the following information about the active browser tab to the Desktop App running on your computer:
- The active tab URL.
- The active tab title.
- The browser name, such as Chrome or Firefox.
- The time of the browser activity event.
- A technical reason for the event, such as tab activation, tab update, or window focus change.
The Extension only processes regular
http and https URLs. It does not intentionally collect passwords, cookies, authentication tokens, payment card numbers, form fields, page screenshots, page contents, or data from non-web browser pages such as browser settings pages. The Extension also checks whether the local Desktop App is running and whether browser monitoring is enabled. These status checks are sent to the local Desktop App on your computer.
How Information Moves
The Extension sends browser activity events to the Desktop App through a local connection on your computer at
127.0.0.1. This local connection is used so the Extension can communicate with the Desktop App.The Desktop App may then send activity events to Racionalist services so they can appear in your Racionalist dashboard, but only when:
- You are signed in to your Racionalist account in the Desktop App.
- Browser monitoring is enabled for that browser in the Desktop App.
- The event is not filtered out by your Desktop App settings.
Depending on your settings, the Desktop App may send either the full URL or only the domain. You may also configure allowlist or denylist filters in the Desktop App to limit which browser activity is tracked.
How We Use Information
We use browser activity information only to provide and improve the Racionalist OS Tracker activity tracking features, including:
- Showing your browser activity in your Racionalist dashboard.
- Categorizing browser activity.
- Calculating time spent in monitored browser activity.
- Preventing duplicate or overly frequent activity events.
- Diagnosing and improving the reliability of the Extension and Desktop App.
We do not use browser activity data for advertising, ad targeting, retargeting, selling user profiles, or cross-service tracking unrelated to Racionalist OS Tracker.
Information We Do Not Collect Through the Extension
The Extension does not collect:
- Passwords.
- Cookies.
- Authentication tokens.
- Payment information.
- Form field values.
- Email contents or messages.
- Files from your computer.
- Screenshots.
- Complete browsing history independent of active-tab activity.
The Extension does not run scripts inside web pages to scrape page content.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information or browser activity data.
We may share information only in the following limited situations:
- With service providers that help operate Racionalist, only as necessary to provide the service.
- When required to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
- When necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Racionalist, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection commitments.
We do not transfer browser activity data to third parties for advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, data brokerage, or unrelated analytics.
Human Access
Racionalist limits human access to user browser activity data. Personnel may access user data only when necessary to provide support requested by the user, investigate abuse or security issues, comply with legal obligations, or maintain and improve the service using aggregated or de-identified information.
Storage and Retention
Browser activity events sent to Racionalist services are retained for as long as needed to provide the Racionalist OS Tracker service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.
The Desktop App may store local configuration data, such as which apps are monitored and your tracking preferences. If diagnostic logging is enabled in the Desktop App, local logs may include technical activity details used for troubleshooting.
You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us at the address below.
Your Controls
You can control browser activity tracking in the Desktop App:
- Disable monitoring for a browser in Monitored Apps.
- Choose whether browser tracking uses full URLs or domain-only tracking, when available.
- Configure allowlist or denylist filters.
- Sign out of your Racionalist account.
- Uninstall the Extension from your browser.
- Uninstall the Desktop App from your computer.
If the Desktop App is not running, if you are not signed in, or if browser monitoring is disabled, the Extension does not send browser activity to Racionalist services.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data. Browser activity sent from the Extension to the Desktop App uses a local connection on your own computer. Activity sent from the Desktop App to Racionalist services should be transmitted using secure network connections.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration.
Children
The Extension and Desktop App are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice as required by law or store policy.
