Save webP as PNG or JPEG is a must-have Firefox extension for anyone frustrated by websites serving images exclusively in webP format. With a simple right-click, it allows you to save webP images as PNG or JPEG, making them easier to edit, share, or use with software that doesn’t support webP.
Pros:
✅ One-click conversion: Quickly converts webP images to PNG or JPEG with a simple right-click.
✅ Preserves image quality: The converted images maintain their original resolution and clarity.
✅ Convenient format choice: Gives you the option to save as either PNG (lossless) or JPEG (compressed).
✅ Lightweight and efficient: Works quickly without slowing down your browser.
✅ Perfect for compatibility: Ideal for working with older software or platforms that don’t support webP.
Cons:
❌ No bulk conversion: You can only convert images one at a time, which may be slow for large batches.
❌ Limited settings: Lacks advanced customization options like compression levels or metadata stripping.
💡 Overall, Save webP as PNG or JPEG is a simple yet powerful Firefox extension that makes dealing with webP images hassle-free. It’s perfect for users who frequently need more compatible image formats. Highly recommended! - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Tehcra, hace un año

I don't get it why there are so many Miesmacher und Kritikaster in the reviews, but some people are born vinegar drinkers that can never be pleased, don't let it get you down, it's a perfect add-on imho.

publicado el hace un añoHi Alonzo, this should work if you right-click > Open Image in New Tab. Is that still working? If the site responds to that by showing the image in the context of a page, then the code won't kick in.
Occasionally users discover a problem with the saved settings and need to clear them to start again. I posted a back door way to do this; I don't have a built-in feature for it. Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace un añoSorry for the inconvenience. Previously, when Firefox wouldn't insert the necessary script, it just failed silently. I kept that as an option if you preferred that behavior.
But more generally, Firefox 128 finally allowed injection into most non-Mozilla sites. If you are running an older version, such as the Extended Support Release of Firefox 115, you could consider upgrading if your OS can run Firefox 128 ESR. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Steve, hace 2 años

Not sure if @Koledaloli looked at the settings or not. But everything they wanted is able to be done in settings, or at least I managed to do it as it too was my prefereed set-up.

Wtf, why is this so unnecessarily complex when it comes to reddit comment images ? In fact, I would prefer if when I right click the image and click 'save Webp as PNG', it instantly does exactly just that, instead of this multi-options crap that won't even appear correctly like in this case. Also, the UI for it is very ugly and unprofessional.
Also, don't tell me to right click open in new tab the image. Reddit has this stupid issue when it comes to images inside comments where doing that will lead to a broken link (imgur.com/a/Wa7FDhH). F*ck reddit for automatically converting PNGs into WEBPs.
It's a shame that the entire of Firefox only has this as WEBP-to-PNG extension. I'm specifically having to dual use another Chromium browser just because Chrome extension store has another WEBP-to-PNG extension that does EXACTLY just what simple request I wanted. publicado el hace 2 añosFirst, I didn't realize the button bar was scrunched in a way that makes it unusable on those images. I'll have to investigate.
Second, by default, if you Shift+click the menu item, it bypasses the button bar and saves as PNG. You can change which action occurs on a plain click versus Shift+click in the options. (Another reviewer shared an example of where to change this: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/save-webp-as-png-or-jpeg/reviews/2120797/ )
I have a couple pending requests to have sub-menus as an alternative to a button bar, since not everyone finds that design attractive, but I haven't found time to work on that. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 18597364, hace 2 añosdoes exactly what it says with a simple additional context menu so i don't have to fight with webps anymore. dev is also way too kind to the ignorant 1 star reviews, deserves 6/5 stars for that alone lol.
