SOURCE
- Not minified, not bundled, no build step: the files in the package are the source code.
- No remote code, no third-party libraries, no analytics.
- Same code as our Chrome Web Store version. Only manifest.json differs: background.scripts instead of service_worker, the gecko id and data_collection_permissions.
PERMISSIONS
- storage: keeps the user's session (storage.local).
- host https://rhuydglmcjfdxqcjjbeo.supabase.co: our backend (Supabase Auth + Edge Functions).
- content scripts on youtube.com:
- page_bridge.js runs in the MAIN world only to call the page's own player (seek to a timestamp, reload captions) and to pass the caption URL the player already loaded.
- reader.js, panel.js and content.js render a side panel next to the video.
- content script on amsdevs-transcricao.web.app/app (connect.js): automatic sign-in, see below.
DATA FLOW
- Nothing is sent while the user just watches videos. Whether the open video is already in the user's library is checked locally.
- Data leaves the browser only when the user clicks "Gerar resumo" (sends the transcript shown by YouTube) or asks a question.
AUTOMATIC SIGN-IN (connect.js, since 1.2.0)
- When the user is already signed in to our web app, the app requests a one-time token from our backend (Supabase Auth token hash, never e-mailed).
- The app passes the token to the extension via window.postMessage.
- background.js exchanges it at /auth/v1/verify for the extension's own session.
- Messages are accepted only from the page's own origin, and the background accepts "connect" only from a sender on the app origin.
HOW TO TEST
1. Click the toolbar icon and sign in with the test account:
e-mail: <PREENCHER>
password: <PREENCHER>
2. Open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2vYObllqJU
3. The panel appears to the right of the video, with topics. Clicking a timestamp seeks the video; the "Perguntar" tab answers questions about the video.
4. On a video that is not in the library, click "Gerar resumo". It takes about 1 minute; the video needs captions.
