To stop YouTube pausing long videos, the extension refreshes YouTube's idle timer about once a minute. In 1.6.1 that refresh was aimed at the video player itself — and a pointer movement over the player is exactly what makes YouTube reveal the control bar. The result was the control bar, and the mouse cursor in fullscreen, flashing into view roughly every 60 seconds during playback.
The refresh now targets the page only and never touches the player, so the controls stay hidden until you actually move the mouse. A redundant synthetic scroll event was removed at the same time.- No changes to how the "Continue watching?" dialog is detected or dismissed.
- No changes to playback recovery.
- No new permissions, and no data is collected.
- An automated test now guards this behavior so it cannot silently return.

- The extension no longer resumes playback in tabs YouTube did not interrupt. A paused video in a background tab now stays paused.
- Playback is only resumed when a "Continue watching?" dialog is actually on screen. Previously, a dialog dismissed earlier in the session could keep triggering it for the rest of the page's life.
- Unsubscribe, Share, and other YouTube dialogs open normally again after an interruption has been handled.
- The extension no longer stops working after several interruptions during a long session.
