Ghostery does not sell user data. The Human Web, which you can choose to opt in or out of, is an open source technology built by our parent company Cliqz, that provides anonymous group data to help create and improve the browser security features we provide. If you would like to read more about the Human Web, here is a link to our FAQ page where this is covered in detail:

Don't trust it anymore!
I would better recommend installing uBlock, who is made by a free person, is open-source (everybody can read and change the code) and does not sell its users data.

Explain why you don't consider this action selling user data. It is nothing about source code.Réponse du développeur

- Noté 1 sur 5par Cybercrypsis, il y a 8 ansThe addon that does't respect your privacy, collects your data to make money, and the developers who constantly delete negative reviews... Great job,.. highly recommended for people who have absolutely no idea what they are doing/installing!
Go ahead,.. delete this for the forth time.
I'll be back!Réponse du développeur

Before it was proprietary software spying on you for corporations.
Now it's open source software spying on you for corporations !
With those guys when it's free, you're the product.

- Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13825829 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansThe extension causes a delay in rendering CSS, which again can be seen as a flicker/blinking before the page loads. This bug is already known to the dev-people, but there is still no fix! Extremely annoying, so i'll stop using this plugin now and start looking for alternatives!

The product does work to block ads, but this was "overkill" for my purposes, lolRéponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansHey there, you can whitelist the disqus tracker on that one page while continuing to block everything else. I'd be happy to walk you through the "site-selective whitelisting" feature we have - support@ghostery.com - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13765260 de Firefox, il y a 8 ansLove this addon but the last few releases have been broken for me, when I click the icon its blank and crashes the browser. I had to go back to to version 8.0.3.1 to get it working again. Firefox 58.0.1 Windows 10

mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansWe are pushing out a release today that should solve your issue. Sorry for the inconvenience. - Noté 1 sur 5par Nico, il y a 8 ansThis kind of addon is really what I hate. They claim to defend users by blocking trackers but their business model is actually selling your data to that very companies they claim to protect you from.
It's like Adblock plus. They get payed by advertisers to set them on the whitelist, that they of course enable by default because they know the general user will not touch that setting.
Firefox has its own track blocker build in, you can now enable it always on. I additional use ad-nauseam with some tracking filters enabled. It may be counter productive because ad-nauseam actually can click every ad for you in the background to generate false clicks and make them pay more money so they may be able to track you better but I just love that concept.
Replying to the dev below:
1. User data - tracker data. tomatos tomatos.
2. OK how are you making money now? I will not read that article. You are absolutely untrustworthy because you had a parent company like that in the first place. And probably doing some other new shady stuff.Réponse du développeur
mis en ligne : il y a 8 ansHey there.. The business model you are referring to 1. Was never user data, it was tracker information. 2. Is no longer in practice since we split ways with the previous parent company. You can read more about that here: https://www.ghostery.com/blog/ghostery-news/ghostery-acquired-cliqz/ - Noté 1 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13617434 de Firefox, il y a 8 ans

- Noté 1 sur 5par Tiago, il y a 9 ansThe single most annoying plugin I've ever seen. Great they stop trackers, but can they STOP advertising themselves for a single second?
It's impossible, this god damn extension is always poping up to say something about itself or its developers...
