Downloads videos yes, but it's also very intrusive. It invades the graphical interface of Youtube with not only the button, but also a big message about a premium product when I tried to download an MP3. I could not remove the message until I uninstalled this. Bad decision on your part.

The very intrusive message is:
PRO UPGRADE : Since Youtube no longer provides direct download links for 1080p and MP3 qualities these two qualities require server infrastructure for processing, therefore user needs to Pay and Upgrade here >>>, you have the choice to pay whatever you want for this one-time upgrade which helps me keep this service alive for all users.

It puts their logo throughout the video which sucks big time. Otherwise was quick and trouble free.

The ONLY add-on I've found that downloads HD videos. Works great on nearly everything, though I've run into one or two videos that it couldn't download.

Update 7/23/20: Software has been updated to change the way it activates for the pro version. Only people who bought in the last 12 months get to keep using it. I paid for pro 15 months ago so would need to pay again but I will not. Dropping my rating considerably for this.

Works great for a while, then the activation expires after a few weeks and I need to pay yet again. I wish they would post the amount you need to pay to make activation permanent. If they do have an amount, it's more than $50 US. Even when you do pay, activation is extremely difficult. The help links just go around in a circle. Click here takes you to another click here, which goes back to the original click here, and so on.

I formerly rated this as 5 star. When it works, it's the best! Unfortunately, the periods when it works are fairly rare, and the periods where it doesn't fairly common.

I completely understand, and have generally tried to be understanding. I recognize the difficulty in keeping ahead of youtube's nastiness.

Recently, however, in spite of having upgraded to pro long since, that status has stopped working. Every time I try to download anything in high res, I get the update to pro message instead of a link. I already HAVE pro. Attempting to use the contact us link sends me to a null address that doesn't exist. There is no longer any way to contact the author. I might be tempted to pony up more money, but I no longer have any faith that doing so will benefit me in any way.

Meanwhile, I gave it 2 stars because I can still download low res videos.

1080p or mp3 download is available only for pro version.. though they ask us to wait for an upgrade to download 720/1080, i dont think its reliable.. Its just like any other downloader.. there are better alternatives available.. IDM may be ideal and a better option. thanx..

This downloader doesn't let you download Youtube videos with both the video and audio. I don't know why Youtube downloaders think people EVER want just one or the other. This extension HAS the ability to download both but it won't let you until you download their app. What's the point of installing the extension then?

2023 update:
After donating for the premium feature, now the developer removed the functionality and ask for more donation. Dissapointed with this approach. If you need more money to support your work, requesting non-mandatory donation would be better approach. you might get more money by doing that way as I'm not going to pay more with this approach.

They don't send out a re-activation e-mail as they claim to do.
