- Noté 5 sur 5par Gone Postal, il y a 9 ansI've used the addon for a long time. The developer has always responded very quickly to problems and queries. Hope he manages to restore the functionality lost due to forthcoming Mozilla changes.

"But do not worry, I'll come up with a workaround and will return Forecastfox previous form" - Noté 1 sur 5par Proft, il y a 9 ansMenu bar no longer shows forecast options. Without this the add-on is not useful. And what is with the advertising hooks? Removing the add-on until this is fixed.

This one is WAY TOO minimalist. Everything you need to know "quickly" isn't shown anymore unless you click. And then again, Satellite is so small it gets you on a new page... Well. Better put a hotlink to a REAL weather site. Gonna delete this. Sorry and & Thank you.

http://www.s3blog.org/forecastfox.html - Noté 2 sur 5par jeremy, il y a 9 ansi notice they my forecast fox was missing from the bottom toolbar today, that was until i notice a small yellow dot. i was a little upset because i took forecast fox over other programs that give you a little dot of something in any of the toolbars. i removed the newest version of forecast fox and took the 2. whatever and loaded it back on so i can see everything that's happening with weather and weather for the next 2 days. the full view is best and i think that is what made forecast fox better than other weather apps. sometimes change isn't always the best idea.

People just don't like change but I understand why you had to change it.. I just have one suggestion and that is too give us an option to disable the satellite because it doesn't always load and I'd rather not have it when I click on the weather button. Thanks for your work!

mis en ligne : il y a 9 ansdo not worry, I'll come up with a workaround and will return Forecastfox previous form - Noté 3 sur 5par mathom, il y a 9 ansWhen the original Forecastfox became unusable, I was extremely disappointed, since it was the perfect weather add-on for me - small, informative, and always there with no clicking pr pointing required.
When the fix version showed up, I was thrilled. Once again, the perfect weather add-on was back.
Now, however, it's gone, and it appears it's gone for good, because of the changes firefox is making. I get that this is not the developer's fault, but it makes forecastfox clunky and not very usable for me.
I can go to almost any page and get weather. What made forecastfox so great is that there was a wealth of information in a small space, and it was always there, no clicking needed, so even if you were busy with something that you couldn't interrupt, you could see what the weather would be tomorrow.
Thank you for making the fix version. I'll probably keep it, for now at least, but I'll be looking for a new solution again.Réponse du développeur

I deleted it and tried reinstalling but I see nothing with this new one. I am running Firefox 64bit ver 53. I will miss this for sure.

But do not worry, I'll come up with a workaround and will return Forecastfox previous form - Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 13024827 de Firefox, il y a 9 ansRecently, this add-on, which WAS wonderful and did exactly what I wanted it to do, changed.
In researching the issue, I discovered that the developer, Alexander (Oleksandr) Popov lives in Kyiv. In March of 2022, he posted a response to a Google conversations regarding Forecastfox that due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he's no longer able to lead the development of his addons.

I'm creator. I'm from Ukraine, Kyiv. Not Russia!!!!!
I can not now lead the development of extension, because there is a war in my country.
Sorry!"
This probably explains why this addon isn't working anymore. Some recent changes in the the URL's for the weather services his addon links to are the likely reason for the disruption. And this assumes he's still alive.
Personally, I'll look for an alternative for a while, but I won't uninstall it. I wish him and his fellow countrymen and women well.Réponse du développeur

That is where I have put ForecastFox since I started using it. Now that the new ForecastFox height is 2x larger it looks bad in the status bar. If you could have a setting in ForecastFox where the weather icon could be moved down a line so the overall height would be the same as it was in the old ForecastFox. Just a thought. Otherwise will be installing the old version.

I can see any cloud cover and the temperature right away. Also, the five day forecast, radar, precipitation, and what it feels like are all just one click away!

- Noté 3 sur 5par freemen2, il y a 9 ansI prefer the way 2.4.8 works. Will be using as long as possible then I guess I will be looking once more for what's out there. I just like to be able to see what I want to see where I want to see it without having to click on it. Thanks for all the work you've done on this and are doing. I understand this is FF policies but am hoping like heck you or someone will figure a way around this :)

Thank you for understanding the current situation! - Noté 5 sur 5par Utilisateur ou utilisatrice 4391148 de Firefox, il y a 9 ansSadly, the new version lost the ability to display multiple days at once on a bar, but this was bound to happen after switching to Mozilla's WebExtensions.
All the information is available in just one click anyway, it's just a new habit to take.
This is still one of the best -- if not the best -- weather add-on for Firefox.
And the city search is working again. :) - Noté 1 sur 5par Stylist2006, il y a 9 ansI just donated for the very good last version and today all settings are destroyed for a absolutely unusable updated version - wished I wouldn't have done so!

https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2017/02/16/the-road-to-firefox-57-compatibility-milestones/ - Noté 3 sur 5par Hoggy, il y a 9 ans3 stars is mainly because this used to be a 5-star addon. Now it is just slightly better than the rest. But at least in the new version, the icon couldn't even be moved out of the navigation bar - it remained stuck in 'More Tools'.. So I couldn't even see the basic weather info at a glance.
I like having several days in the addon bar, and being able to hover over one and get more info - ESPECIALLY for the RADAR!
I reverted back to 2.4.8 and turned of automatic updates.. Like more and more addons these days, due to Mozilla's bulls**t. The regular Firefox is barely even usable to me anymore, so I use Cyberfox instead and turn off addon compatibility checking.
I did note that the search was broken like the author said, but fortunately I had all the cities already in. Maybe the author can tell how to manually add them in about:config??
Way to go Mozilla! Continually screwing over all the addon developers again and again and again and again. It's no wonder why so many addons have become abandoned.
Edit after developer reply:
I know it's not you, sorry if I made it sound that way. If it helps, yours [3.4] was the only one I tried that formatted the popup correctly - and looked the nicest and neatest. Hopefully in newer versions you could at least allow the icon/text to be moved elsewhere (including a statusbar, for Firefox forks like Cyberfox).
I can only hope Cyberfox sticks with the older code line, at least as an option. I currently still enjoy having the statusbar, and being able to see multiple days in it, with popup info & radar. I forgot to check if v3.4 allowed popup radar, because that is extraordinarily important to me in a weather addon - as opposed to having to open up a webpage that may take a good while to load.Réponse du développeur

https://forum.mozilla-russia.org/viewtopic.php?pid=736428#p736428 - Noté 5 sur 5par gmon, il y a 9 ansI don't switch cities so don't need whatever may be broken and prefer the multi day view, so had to find out from a search where to get the older version. If I have to give up on Firefox I will, but not before every useful addon like forecastfox is completely broken.
- Noté 5 sur 5par Makronti, il y a 9 ansStill a great add-on! In new version -as many others- I miss the multiple days view. But I understand that Firefox will not be the same after v57. And as some other add-ons I have (i.e. Wired-Marker), all will change to follow the new API of Firefox. The Forecastfox as well.
I have to learn a new habit, to click on the Forecastfox button. Then everything is better than before.Réponse du développeur
