Utiling together "automaticDark - Time-Based Theme Changer by simonkhzhang" + "Darkify by Gabriel" = and I am completly satisfied with this)

Does exactly what it sets out to do. And very well, at that. Only a few minor issues here and there (mostly relating to text colours of the site match poorly once the darkening magics has been unleashed) but most of that is easy to deal with. Simply highlight a piece of unreadable text and - presto - you can read it.
