Lyve is a browser extension that adds a time-synced chat experience to YouTube videos. This policy explains what data Lyve collects, how it is used, and your choices. By creating an account or posting messages in Lyve, you agree to this policy.

1. Who operates Lyve
   Lyve is developed and published by TevDed. For any privacy questions or data requests, contact tevded@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
   Email address: Used to create and sign in to your Lyve account.
   Password: Entered to authenticate. It is transmitted directly to Google Firebase Authentication and is not stored or readable by the extension.
   Display name / username: Shown next to your messages.
   Chat messages: The text you post, along with the YouTube video ID and the video timestamp the message is anchored to.
   Authentication tokens: Issued by Firebase and stored locally on your device through chrome.storage.local to keep you signed in.
   Local preferences: Chat settings, such as display name, colors, and layout options, stored locally on your device.
   Lyve does not collect your browsing history, location, financial information, health information, or the content of web pages other than the YouTube video ID needed to attach your chat messages to a video.
3. How we use data
   To authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
   To store chat messages and display them to other users watching the same video.
   To manage access during the private beta through an approved-users allowlist.
   To remember your local chat preferences.
4. Where data is stored and processed
   Account and message data are stored using Google Firebase, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, running on Google Cloud infrastructure. Authentication tokens and preferences are stored locally in your browser. All network communication uses HTTPS.
5. Sharing and disclosure
   We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Data is processed only by Google Firebase as our hosting and authentication provider.

Chat messages and your display name are visible to other Lyve users viewing the same video, which is the core function of the product. We do not use or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to Lyve, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

1. Data retention and deletion
   Your account and messages are retained until you request deletion. To delete your account and associated data, email tevded@gmail.com and we will remove your account and messages from our systems.
2. Children
   Lyve is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact tevded@gmail.com and we will delete it.
3. Security
   We rely on Google Firebase's security infrastructure, transmit all data over HTTPS, and store authentication tokens locally on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
4. Relationship to YouTube
   Lyve is an independent third-party extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC.
5. Changes to this policy
   We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
