SA_agent Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026

SA_agent is a browser add-on for Google Scholar that provides journal ranking indicators and optional AI-powered article summaries.

Data collected by the add-on:
SA_agent does not collect browsing history, personal profile information, email addresses, or payment card details. The add-on stores settings locally in the browser, including the user's SA_agent extension token and configuration preferences.

Local storage:
Journal ranking data and extension settings are stored locally in the browser using extension storage and IndexedDB where available.

AI summary requests:
When a user requests an AI summary, SA_agent sends the relevant Google Scholar result text, article title, snippet, accessible article text when available, and the user's SA_agent token to https://jpfchang.org only to generate the requested summary and manage credit usage. This data is not sold.

Payments:
Paid SA_agent credits and subscriptions are handled through Creem as merchant of record. The extension does not process or store card numbers, cryptocurrency wallet private keys, or payment credentials.

Emails:
SA_agent does not automatically send marketing emails or require email signup for normal use.

Third parties:
AI processing and payment processing may involve service providers used to operate SA_agent. These providers are used only to deliver the requested service, process payments, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.

User control:
Users can remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling the add-on or clearing the extension's browser storage. Users can stop using AI features at any time by removing their SA_agent token from the Options page.
