Haven't tested many features, but it seems effective at blocking certain channels in search results, which all I need for now.

Despite serving its purpose somewhat adequately, BlockTube seems to slow my Internet connection down badly as well as using more RAM than it should.

I specifically downloaded this add-in to block Russel Brand and his 9 brazillian videos about how enlightened he is. Succes within 5 seconds after installing. Gonna block all those look-at-me-im-enlightened-fake-woke-fucks.

You can only block channels that appear on your homepage, not on the fly as this claims. Which makes this pointless.

I have been using this extension (Chrome) for years. Very happy with it until today as it no longer works.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this add-on! For so long I have been having to weed through a specific trash videos when trying to find different player's perspectives of various PC game videos... got so tired of seeing a particular person's face ON EVERY THUMBNAIL! It was like opening the fridge and expecting fresh food... but seeing the inside of a porta-potty instead! This... is a godsend!

I installed it, opened the options/settings, added the names of the youtube channels in the appropriate box, VOILA! No more idiotic facial expressions from a specific Youtuber!

I understand YT wanting to list the most viewed or the most popular channels "first"... but it seriously does prevent/hinder some potentially better content from making it's way to a more visible list!

i used this once before and it worked great. then like all good things it just stopped working or working very well. so i simply uninstalled it. that was well over a year ago now, i was looking today for a similar extension because googles recommended videos couldn't possibly be worse if they tried. i noticed that this had been updated less then a month ago so i thought id give it a try again. so far its been working flawless, thank god because if i had to look at one more recommended vevo music video i might have just put my pistol in my mouth. P$%& off youtube!!

I gotta be real honest, this app is a godsend. Especially when it comes to people happily leaking videos online and/or spoiling a game as it comes out.

Get this, please.

Edit: Due to some strangeness, My entire blocklist got wiped. This has happened multiple times. And as the developers seem to be content on ignoring the GitHub.

Until the developers start actually giving a shit, I'm bumping my rating down.

Amazing so far.
Allows me to block most of the click bait BS that I don't want to see that YT floods my suggested videos with. (reaction videos, music covers, news/political nonsense, gaming junk, etc) It's really is a shame that YT doesn't give a crap about what it's viewers want to see, though.

Thanks so much for this add! if youtube believes that is correct do tendency of people doing stupid things,or pay to "singers" with out talent or garbage music, dumb "youtubers" and the clickbait well I pretty sure that I am so free and I have the right for block that kind of garbage. You guys should update you extension soon. I think the Youtube giant changed it's settings again...

I gave it 4 stars, because it seems to take a while to actually start blocking keywords. I can't figure out why, but there were clear misses when I first started using it today, but after a few hours and several additions to the key word list, it seems to be working. Thank heavens because YouTube's recommended feed is a dumpster fire.

I've been using this addon for months now and loved how my youtube can be super clean. I somehow cannot block anymore channels now. The two buttons of 'block video' and 'block channel' seems to be missing in some videos and I can't even add the channels using the blocktube options page. Would really hope this to be fixed as soon as possible.

As far as I can tell it doesn't work. Wrote in "Linus Tech Tips" in the channel block field, didn't work so I added their channel ID in the corresponding field and that didn't work either. Still shows up in search results.
