There is no need to learn a filter language semantic. uBlock Origin offers many filter subscripts, although I would argue not a suitable number are enabled by default.

ZERO ads are acceptable. Wladimir Palant, developer of ad"block" plus sells out user trust for profit enabling a master whitelist by default. THIS IS HORRENDOUSLY UNETHICAL.

uBlock blocks nearly every ad just about every time, and the very extremely few that do sneak by are so sneaky that they are fairly unobtrusive to your web viewing experience. Also, I'm a big proponent of the open source software model, and love the fact that uBlock, unlike many of the other ad blocking software out there, is FOSS.

After many years with ad-block, I decided to try ublock. It's much more efficient, settings are not lost like in ad-block, and its blocking process can be customized efficiently.
