Amnesia — Privacy Policy

Amnesia is a browser extension that automatically deletes browser history
entries matching rules you define.

Data collection: none

Amnesia does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. It makes zero
network requests. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no external services.

What the extension stores — locally only

All data stays in your browser's extension storage on your device:

• Rules you create (domains/keywords to clean);
• an optional deletion log (disabled by default);
• extension settings, including an optional PIN (stored as a PBKDF2-SHA256
  derived verifier, never as the PIN itself).

This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.

Permissions

• history — to find and delete history entries matching your rules;
• storage — to store rules and settings locally;
• activeTab — to read the current tab's address only when you explicitly
  add it via the button, keyboard shortcut, or icon menu;
• contextMenus — the "Add this site" item on the extension icon.
