SoundCloud's feed page is not very good, let's be honest. It gives you pretty much no filtering options so you end up having to scroll through tons of posts that you're not even interested in. Sure, you may unfollow profiles that you don't want to hear anything from, but this is a very simplistic use case - most DJs and producers are sometimes looking for mixes to listen to, sometimes new tracks to add to their mixcrate, sometimes they want one genre and sometimes another. All of the followed profiles are useful, just at different times!

This extension solves the issue by adding a filtering panel above your SoundCloud feed and above tag pages (Recent Tracks and Popular Tracks), plus extra controls in the player bar.

FILTERS

The panel works on your feed and on tag pages (the Recent Tracks and Popular Tracks tabs). Feed and tag pages remember their own filters, so pruning your feed never changes how you dig through a tag.

Activity types (feed only)
Choose what shows up: track posts, track reposts, or playlist posts. Unchecked types are filtered at the API level — they're never even loaded.

Search
Two modes:
• Simple — a single search box that matches against title, description, genre, artist, and label. Untick any of these to leave it out, e.g. skip descriptions so promo text doesn't cause false matches
• Extended — separate inputs for each field, so you can filter by genre without accidentally matching titles

Search supports comma-separated terms, -exclusions, and *wildcard patterns. Toggle between AND (all terms must match) and OR (any term matches).

Duration
Set a minimum and/or maximum track length in minutes. Great for skipping intros, snippets, or marathon DJ sets.

The next few live under a collapsible "More filters" toggle (it remembers whether you left it open), so the panel stays compact if you never need them.

Date
Pick a from/to date range with your browser's date picker. It always uses the date SoundCloud shows on the track. On the feed an item counts if either the time it was posted or reposted, or that date, falls in the range; on tag pages it's that date alone, so you can see only what's new for a tag.

Likes, plays & followers
Set minimum and/or maximum like and play counts, or a follower-count range that the uploader or whoever reposted the item must fall into. A maximum is a great way to surface under-the-radar tracks and artists nobody has found yet.

Changes take effect when you click Apply & Reload.

PLAYER CONTROLS

• Seek forward / backward — two buttons in the player bar that jump forward or backward by a configurable number of seconds (default 30). If you're near the end of a track, seeking forward skips to the next track; near the start, seeking backward goes to the previous track. Toggle them on/off and customize the seek duration in extension settings.
• PiP toggle — a button in the player bar to manually open or close the Picture-in-Picture window at any time. Can be hidden in extension settings.
• Settings — a gear icon in the player bar that opens the extension settings dialog.

PICTURE-IN-PICTURE

Switch to another tab and a mini player pops up on top of everything — no need to keep SoundCloud visible. The PiP window includes:

• Cover artwork and track info (click the title or artist name to open their page)
• Waveform progress bar you can click to seek
• Full playback controls: seek, skip, play/pause
• Like/unlike button (synced with SoundCloud)
• Time display (current position and total duration)

Configure PiP in extension settings: auto-open on tab switch (on by default, browser manages lifecycle) and a manual PiP button in the player bar (on by default, stays open until you close it). Works in Chrome and Edge; Firefox requires enabling an experimental flag.

HOW IT WORKS
The extension intercepts SoundCloud's API responses and filters them before the page renders. No content is removed from the DOM after loading — filtered items are never shown in the first place. Where SoundCloud's API supports a filter (like date and length on Popular Tracks) it's applied server-side; everything else is filtered locally. Your filter settings persist across sessions.

PRIVACY
• No data collection
• No external servers
• No tracking
• All filtering happens locally in your browser
• Only permission used: storage (to save your filter preferences)
