Cart-It Privacy Policy

Cart-It helps users save shopping items, organize wishlists, and track price changes.

Data we collect and process

Account data: username, email, and encrypted password hash (for login/authentication).
Wishlist data: saved item links, item names, images, prices, notes, purchase flags, and list/group metadata.
Collaboration data: shared wishlist members and group chat/comments users choose to post.
Extension data: product page details needed to save an item (such as URL, title, image, store, and detected price).
How we use data

To provide core app features (save items, show lists, track prices, support shared lists).
To authenticate users and secure accounts (including password reset).
To send service emails users request (for example password reset and shared-list invites).
To notify users about relevant app events (such as price changes).
What we do not do

We do not sell personal data.
We do not use your browsing history for advertising.
We only process page data needed for the extension’s save-item functionality.
Sharing

Data is shared only as needed with service providers required to operate Cart-It (for example hosting, database, and transactional email providers).
Shared wishlist content is visible to users invited to that shared wishlist.
User control

Users can edit or delete wishlist items and notes in the app.
Users can stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest.
No method of transmission/storage is 100% secure, but we continuously improve protections.
