7 jierren lyn pleatstThe new permissions are needed so that Copyfish can communicate with the UI.Vision XModule, which it uses for taking desktop screenshots, for the new desktop OCR feature. Of course, you only need to install the UI.Vision XModule if you want to OCR outside of the web browser, on the desktop. Typcial use case for this are grabbing text from desktop apps, popup dialogs, images, invoices, PDF,...).

I watch a lot of informational videos, and this allows me to capture text for notes in a FAR superior manor to retyping them. Recognition accuracy is excellent. I don't use the translation function, so I can't speak to that.
