Edited review : The below seemingly happens due to a change the YT made and the dev sent out an email that he is working on it, but nonetheless, I should be able to choose whether to not use the extension's player or the regular player. Some points remain for now but we shall see after the fix is applied. Updated my stars to 4 for now. Thanks for the proactivity!

The premise is good, but there are extreme issues with using this extension.

- It often plays the videos twice simultaneously (reg. player and this ext.'s player) so double audio and processing
- It often hides the "this tab is playing audio" speaker icon in the tab
- The "restores old video player" feature does not work. It does change the video player but to something completely different that lacks many functionalities of the regular player and overall looks much much worse, not just subjectively, but by objective measures as well.
- The "report a bug" feature does not work, tried submitting bugs twice, but both times it failed on the extension's end.
- The extension is 100% paid, which is not really clear when installing the extension. The "free" part is a 7day free trial
- The free trial version does not function the same as the paid version - After paying, it started behaving differently.

I am giving it 2 stars because it does block the ads, but so do others and this one has a plethora of issues that ultimately made me spend the time to write this review.

I don't wish to sabotage the work of the developer, it just truly was a bad experience. I am open to modifying it of course, but to do that, I'd need to come back to it in the future and "test" it... I think it is definitely okay to make the extension paid, but not when it has not been properly tested. Perhaps YouTube is to blame here and is messing with the extension, but still. Make a toggle to enable/disable all individual features of the extension so that if YT breaks the "player" part of the extension, I can just toggle it off so that I can return to the regular yt player and still use the extension.

I normally don't bother reviewing extension with text to be honest, but this is by a whole fucking mile the best 2$ I've spent in years, you made an amazing work and you deserve all the best! Thank you again for your service.

cant send out a message in the extension but it's not currently working on youtube - otherwise when it does the job done is fantastic

Using GoodTube has been incredible!
You can customize it to your liking, completely remove YouTube Shorts if you want to. It removes those bothersome ads.
And the developer is very kind and understanding. Currently, I'm in a tough spot financially, and the developer was kind enough to sent me a key.
GoodTube has been very helpful to my everyday needs when it comes to watching content, give it a try if you can.

gets rid of the buffering <3 but it doesnt play nice with enhancer for youtube

Honestly the best extension for YouTube there is. It just works, it's seamless and fast.

Works perfectly. Best of all creator was kind enough to waive the minor lifetime. I plan to bung him/her a coffee... Thank you, makes viewing YouTube seamless again, also has some added benefits like the old YT player.

Does what it says...Was getting the pop-up, warning youtube violation of blah, blah, blah...Not anymore. Very cool, to find an extension, app, anything, really, nowadays, that just works....and, this does.

Great add-on. Great UI and ease of use. Only little problem I have is that it doesn't have a default 1440p setting for videos on youtube. Setting it to 4K is too laggy and I have a 2k monitor so don't want to just default it to 1080p.

GoodTube is a genuinely worthwhile add-on to have. It's quick and easy to manage, and it does a great job dealing with the mess that is YouTube's restless ad system. Also the price is also incredibly affordable and the dev is very understanding for those who can't pay. It's a good deal!

It has a great UI, and it has worked more reliably where other less-maintained extensions glitch out. And $2? Cmon, it is worth the time youll spend fixing other extensions later on, just get the man a coffee and never have to worry about ads again. It also has nice features like blocking shorts (and it works on YT Music)
