Works fine. Import from Speed Dial by Josep del Rio very usefull. What I really miss is an automatic update of thumbnails after some adjustable time. I guess it's coming soon ;-)

I imported dials of Speed Dial from Josep del Rio, but it shows only 12 groups of dial. How can I see other 13+ groups. I know that they exists because I see they when the extension is updating icons of deals.

Update: I see in the comments that if you set the "height" of the titles 50, you get multiple lines for the titles - and I can now see the plus-sign (+). I suggest this to be documented somewhere in the GUI, because I would never have guessed this functionality.

Quite good, lots of potential and just need some polishing and additional functionality.
Plus - The good things
+ Has a working import for the old Speed Dial by Josep del Rio, which recently stopped working with Firefox Quantum. This saved me my 1000+ old Speed Dials!
+ Can open dials in new tabs in the background. without switching to them.
+ You can "scroll-change" between groups, so you don't even have to click on the group titles in order to change group.
+ You can change the size group titles
+ Fast

Minus - what I would like to change/add
- Where is the "+" button at the end of the end of the group list? It's never visible, at least not in in FF Quantum.
- I would very much like to be able to scroll through the group list with "arrow buttons" as is possible in Josep del Rio's Speed Dial as well. Yes, I know you can "scroll-change" between them, but then I never see the name of my "current group".
- I'm eagerly awaiting time-based "Auto Reload" and the "Visual" functionality. Please do them similar to how they work in Josep del Rio's Speed Dial and I will even consider becoming a "Patreon"! :-)

I came from FVD, installed Group Dial, and sorry to say, am going back to FVD.
There is on page 2 here a review "by vee, 21 days ago"
that claims that FVD charges for more dials - totally untrue.
FVD has never charged for anything pertaining to the dials.
I am NOT an employee of theirs or in any other way associated with them,
other than being a normal consumer with their extension installed.

They are around a long time. Yes, they maybe still a little bit slower, but also
serving up a lot more customizing options. Just far more mature. That's all.
Am sure that within a year or so Group Dial will also have good changes to show.
Right now it's more Beta than anything. This is not a critique just a statement.
I am around a long time online [since 1993] and have seen many come and go.

Group Dial is definitely one that will remain.
For now I will continue to use FVD, that now is also faster after their re-write for FF 57.
The only slower aspect is the rebuilding of thumbnails. Everything else
[cloud storage etc.] it has everything and more .

Just wanted to set the record straight that they never charged anyone for anything
and have no intentions to do so. They have a business with some software etc.
where they have a regular shopping cart. But the Speed Dial is provided 100% for free
ever since their inception many years ago.

I would pay [I I do for a Pro since I have close to 3000 dials and want the benefit
of customer service solutions fast if needed]. I have enjoyed their speed dials
extension for free since many years, and they too have to make a living.
There is nothing wrong with that. I'd consider the same benefit if I would use
Group Dial as my primary bookmarking.

I will come back from time to time and see hopefully progress and maturing. :)

Nice. But one detail is annoying: I would like to access some local HTML files via dials. Unfortunately there seems to be no way of doing this (in any case, pasting the "file://..." address from Firefox's address bar into the dial parameter dialog does not give the desired result. Could this be added?

v6.4 fails to generate thumbnails on Nightly with privacy.resistFingerprinting=true. The thumbnail seems to be created correctly and then just blanks in a couple of seconds. Turning the setting off solves the issue, but switching it back and forth every time I add a dial is kinda annoying.

Other than that, everything seems to work as expected. I'm almost happy with this addon. Almost :)

Hi, I had the old version set up as my Home Page.
I haven't been able to find a way to do this with this new version.
Is that possible?

A really useful add-on.
But since the update to version 57, the normal context menu overlays the extension menu by right-clicking on a thumbnail. Please correct. Thank you very much! :)

I have a few dozen of website and this add on allow me to group them into "Dials" and open them with one click. Saving me lots of right click and open in Tabs action. However there is just a few things,

1. Open Dial ( Replace Current ) - This needs an option to have it hidden. Because Replace Current actually delete EVERY tab you have right now. And Undo Close tab wont help. I am a heavy tab user and this features had me lost 140 Tabs with no way to trace them back. Or at least have an confirmation window before doing so. Personally I want an option to hide it, or heck hide it as Default!.

2. Sane Default - I think the Dials being 1:1 proportion, using Top Site as initial Dial, or have default Group as Top Site, dial name at the bottom with default Thumbnail size the same as Top Site. etc. ( Inline with the current theme of Top Site in Firefox )

3. And Small things is Option should be a separate Tab or Pages instead of all the way at the bottom of Add-On. Huge Discovery problem.

Apart from those I think it is a generally very good add on. Thx for the work.

Good replacement for Josep del Rio's version, but the feature I miss the most is the keyboard shortcuts. I used to be able to hit ctrl1-5 for speeddial options 1-5 from anywhere in the browser. Would like to see that added but other than that it's very close to del Rio's.

I think that this is an excellent speed dial, probably the best available on firefox at this time. My main issue though is the very limited number of dials - I would hope that this would be greatly expanded in the future to maybe 90 or 100 dials.

This is great addon and replacement for SpeedDial i used pre-version 57. It needs a little more customization. I would like to see more options for custom tile backgrounds - positioning, background colors etc. like it was in SpeedDial.

Since FVD is dead for FF57(yet), it's a good, lightweight alternative with frequent updates.

I wished the pro version to be cheaper or donation-like, but well, Dev has to live :)

When I enable the super drag, the dial and group can not be changed by dragging on the home page.

When I enable this feature, you can not change the dialing position by dragging the dialing on the home page, and you can not transfer the dial to other groups.
Turn off the super drag and drop function, everything is normal.
The drag-and-drop feature comes from Firefox -UC-FeiRuoMouse.uc.js.
Presumably this problem may also exist in other extensions with the "Super Drag" function, or it may not. If I remember correctly, UC permissions are relatively high.
This is a very convenient extension, really hope that after you can increase the search bar, allowing users to add their favorite search engine.

Looks like what I need with new Firefox's extensions policy, but it not works :( I see only blank screen with a menu on top right corner. And this message:

Loving the Addon. Is it possible to implement the feature to add custom thumbnails via URL instead of downloaded files?

This is a great Addon, which will replace Fast Dial for me. But there is still space to improve this Addon by far.

1. Automatically generated Thumbnails are really ugly, because you cannot chose the "Browser Size" on which the thumbnails should be recorded. So you get thumbnails which only show a fraction of a website. Please add this!

*update* found out that refresh by visiting does exactly what I needed.

2. I would like to set the max displayed width of the whole Thumbnails, when I chose to use 4 columns and 12 rows the thumbnails are stretched very strong. Usually I would do it myself with Stylish, but thanks to webext this isn't possible anymore. Please consider to add many more styling options to the Addon, your users will love it, believe me!

You can not hide home/account/option buttons on dial page and there is no numbering of dials and groups, or shortcuts to access them directly. But it is a very beautiful extension and the visual possibilities are diverse with colors gradient. For the future, it would be great to have more style options, such as right-angle corners, active tab of the same color as the active group, navigation between dials/groups by directional keys, backup of dials/settings, and option to do not overwrite default pages (newtab and home).

Overall very good, works as advertised. Has some issues with generating thumbnails on some pages, but the 'refresh by visiting page' option is a decent workaround. Took me a while to figure out that I can change the number of rows/columns by right-clicking the tab at the top. I feel like it should ask how many to make the first time the page is opened.

I can set a thumbnail with a file, but not a URL. I'd imagine this would be easy to add. The speed dial plugin I was using before also allowed thumbnails to auto- refresh after X hours/days, this does not appear to.
