It is a bit annoying that you have to enter a code every time you restart Firefox, but I suppose it's better to have that authentication than just...allowing third-party apps to access passwords when they want to. But it would be nice if Touch ID could be used for that instead (or a user PIN on Windows).
- Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch ancientsnailbiscuits, 20 dagen lynIf you are constantly getting asked to save an already saved password: delete the extension from Firefox, restart Firefox, and reinstall the extension. Works for me on MacOS 26.4.1
- Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19898252, 23 dagen lynWorked great until macOS 26.4...
Now, the extension prompts the user to save the login even though the login already exists. Honestly, macOS26 has been the best and the worst version ever. Steve would have been infuriated that the user interface is so broken. - Wurdearring: 5 fan 5troch timpea, ien moanne lynRunning MacOS 26 and it all works perfectly for me, I nearly didn't download it because of all the recent 1* reviews.
- Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18348988, ien moanne lynEver since Apple released macOS 24.4, this extension prompts the user to save the login even though the login already exists ! This is infuriating as Apple has released an update to the extension for Chrome based browsers that fixes this but NOTHING for Firefox! EDIT : FIXED APRIL 30 2026!
- Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch Martijn, ien moanne lynIt somehow works better on Windows than it does on MacOS, including for the same reasons people are mentioning below (the login popup, or somehow treating random form items like password fields).
The addon has not been updated since December 2025, while the Chrome version has had multiple updates. And that version also seems to address these issues specifically in its updates. - Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch JFLyers, ien moanne lynSame as a lot of other reviews. Everything is great except after every login a popup asks for the username to save even though that info is already there. Every login. Annoying to the point that I disabled the extension.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch aaa, ien moanne lynBreaks a simple input textarea box on a simple html page. I can't hit enter to newline anymore due to this bug. Why is such a bug existent? Please properly guard your invariants!!!

Temporary fix: disable this stupid setting:
In-Page AutoFill
Allow iCloud Passwords to offer credentials from an in-page list. You can always fill passwords from the iCloud Passwords toolbar button, even if this option is turned off. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch MeltingReactor, ien moanne lynIt doesn't work on Firefox. When added for the first time it just tells you this: "The Passwords extension is not currently
available on Firefox for Windows. It is
available in Chrome and Edge." - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 19831200, ien moanne lynThis extension makes Firefox unresponsive whenever I try to type something in any textbox, not just password. It's a shame this comes from Apple.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18801815, ien moanne lynThe save username pop up is so annoying I thought this problem is with my ios system it turns out only happens here.
- Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch Deedeed, ien moanne lynSame as previous comment: worked more than fine for a long time, now it keeps displaying a message saying: "Enter the username for this account to finish saving your password and allow safari to autofill."
Even though that password had already been saved and this issue was not happening. - Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch JoaoRuss0, 2 moannen lynWorked more than fine for a few weeks, now it keeps displaying a message saying: "Enter the username for this account to finish saving your password and allow safari to autofill."
Even though that password had already been saved and this issue was not happening. - Wurdearring: 2 fan 5troch Ninja101, 2 moannen lynNot a great implementation, basic features work on macOS but this extension needs improving.
- Prevents enter key on login forms
- Needs ability to exclude site/domain from autofill/prompting update - Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch Jefft, 2 moannen lyn
- Wurdearring: 4 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 15201000, 2 moannen lynWorks well enough and I haven't noticed performance issues related to it. A few annoyances:
- prevents hitting Enter to submit a login form
- requires being authorized via push notification after every Firefox reinstall (I'm on the beta channel so this happens often)
- no option to just fill in passwords without needing TouchID for every one
Really, this thing shouldn't even be necessary though. Apple provides the APIs for Firefox to directly access iCloud Keychain. Firefox should be using them. - Wurdearring: 3 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 17639658, 2 moannen lyn

- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Konstantin, 2 moannen lynDoesn't work. Literally. Remove this from extension market then.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch jaw, 2 moannen lynit's extremely buggy and probably deliberately so. Apple does not want you to switch from Safari to Firefox
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Lynus, 2 moannen lynwhy add it to the store if it isn't even available? i don't see the point.
- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch lax, 3 moannen lyn"The passwords extension is not currently available on Firefox for Windows. It is available in Chrome and Edge." So yeah, thanks. How about not adding this in Firefox add-ons store then?
