- Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch TheWebRecluse, 2 jierren lynI used to LOVE proton pass but now the extension literally BREAKS everything. Dropdowns don't work. The wordpress editor encounters an error when it's running. Kindle Reader won't load books. It just goes on and on. I disabled EVERY SINGLE plugin and the problem is Proton Pass. Now that I have it disabled, everything works like it should including page load times that I thought were a problem with my web host. What a MESS this extension is.

2 jierren lyn pleatstHi! We'd like to let you know that we've released a fix for the issue. Please make sure you've updated the Proton Pass browser extension (1.15.1). - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch genemarner, 2 jierren lynSo far my experience is very mixed. When I first installed Pass, it worked well enough. However, I could not find out how to open the Pass database in order to see passwords and other data. I wrote to Support but got no reply, a recurrent problem with Proton, I find. I have been unable to get the icon into my tool bar and my efforts seem to have disabled Pass when I try to log onto my iCloud account.

2 jierren lyn pleatstWe're sorry to hear about your experience! Could your ticket number with us here, so we can track your case internally and investigate? For more information on how to bring the Proton Pass icon to your tool bar, please refer to: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1363217. Once successfully added, you can simply select the icon to access your stored login entries and data. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18198194, 2 jierren lynThis app is just not secure. At best, all passwords are secured by a six digit PIN. Sure, you can set up a good passphrase for your protonmail account, but I've used it like twice. Once you log in, it doesn't log you out - even when you exit Firefox. It's open to whomever uses Firefox. The best you can do is require a PIN which must be used if PP has been idle for a certain time. Oh, and the app drops the PIN requirement occasionally and it must be reset leaving you completely exposed in the meantime. Seriously, only six digit protection for all our passwords. Might as well skip a password manager and just use 123456 everywhere.

2 jierren lyn pleatstThank you for your feedback! The latest version of the extension asks for your PIN when restarting your browser. Please make sure that you are not using an outdated version. Moreover, in general, you should not log in on untrusted devices, so make sure to log out of Proton Pass after you no longer need it, if your threat model includes such cases.
Please report the issue you mention with the extension dropping the PIN at pass@protonme.zendesk.com, so we can look into this. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Anonymous, 2 jierren lynNow the piece of crap stopped working altogether, it keeps timing out. The only way to get it t work is to use a VPN. Even though, I can access the website normally. I'm going back to BitWarden.
The 2FA is way too limited (3 entries) in the free version.
There's no way to filter your logins by 2FA.
There's no way to generate a random password from the addon itself.
No Light theme.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
2 jierren lyn pleatstHi! Could you let us know what kind of filtering options you are missing in an update to your review? Currently, you can filter your data by Logins, Aliases, Cards and Notes. As for 2FA, you can set it up for up to three logins on the Free plan. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18182950, 2 jierren lyn

Antwurd ûntwikkeler
2 jierren lyn pleatstHi! The autofill option should work for most services, however, if it doesn't, feel free to tell us the websites where it doesn't work, so we can try to reproduce the behavior and report the issue to our devs. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Pennyland, 2 jierren lynAnother "not really free" from proton. Can't import from roboform. Far too many bugs in their offerings to pay for.

2 jierren lyn pleatstHi! Proton Pass has both a premium and a free version: https://account.proton.me/pass/signup. We'd be happy to help with troubleshooting. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18091897, 2 jierren lyn

3 jierren lyn pleatstHi! Can you please clarify what you are referring to when you say the plan was randomly cancelled? - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 15687883, 3 jierren lynI love Proton Mail but Proton Pass is absolutely useless for me as I must be logged in to my Proton Mail to use it.
Antwurd ûntwikkeler
3 jierren lyn pleatstHi! Both services are managed under the same account, so you need to be logged in to use Proton Pass. If this is a cause for concern for you, you can create a separate account for Proton Pass only. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 16418872, 3 jierren lynDoesn't have autofill which makes is dealbreaker considering it's one of the core features that every other password manager already has.
To make it worse, they use the term "autofill" to describe their difinitively MANUAL method of entering credentials. It's misleading, and confusing. I even wasted two days communicating with their customer support in a frustrating back-and-forth because they don't understand what "autofill" means.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
3 jierren lyn pleatstCan you elaborate on what exactly you're referring to by 'autofill' so we make sure there are no misunderstandings?
Autofill should work on most websites (by suggesting your saved login items for a particular website when you go to log into that website) the same way that your memorized passwords in your browser might work.
We're working on improving the autofill functionality for all web services reported by our community. Please feel free to flag any problematic web services or apps to us either by editing your review or by contacting us at pass@protonme.zendesk.com, and we'll note your feedback for future improvements. Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our extension! - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch C Wolland, 3 jierren lynUpon reevaluating the Firefox Extension, Proton Pass, it's clear that it holds true to its commitment of being an entirely private and secure password manager—it efficiently safeguards all your data, metadata included. However, the user interface could see enhancements, particularly in terms of detail management. As it stands at the time of this review, only a limited portion of the screen is available for editing all your details.
A key gripe for me is the inability to adjust your login email address—a restriction that Proton itself doesn't see as crucial, suggesting users subscribe to a new package with a different address if desired. This is puzzling, especially since I've managed to alter my email address on other secure platforms like sync.com, which also incorporate end-to-end encryption. Such experiences affirm that this feature, indeed, can be integrated, even within E2E encryption models' framework.
Despite these early developmental challenges and teething issues—commonplace for any new product—Proton Pass, barring the aforementioned points, proves itself to be an impressive offering.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
3 jierren lyn pleatstIf you're on a premium plan, you're able to log in with any of the additional email addresses you may have on your single paid account.
It's not possible to alter or disable the original email address tied to your Proton account at the moment, as this is not only used for Pass but all other Proton services as well. - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch Firefox-brûker 18002534, 3 jierren lynWas really looking forward to using this as my first password manager. However, when going through websites and updating old vulnerable passwords, Proton Pass did not save or offer to save the newly updated password. So after using the "suggest strong password" from Proton Pass, it never saves it! What's the point then?
Firefox asked immediately to save these after updating but Proton did not, making it the inferior product at the time of this review. Extremely disappointed and irritated. And yes "Prompt for auto-save" is turned on in the settings.Antwurd ûntwikkeler
3 jierren lyn pleatstWe're working on improving the autosave functionality for all web services reported by our community. Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our app! - Wurdearring: 1 fan 5troch ㅤㅤ, 3 jierren lynUPDATED ON AUGUST 8: If I spoof my user agent string to identify my web browser as Firefox 110 or any older version, then this add-on interferes with mas.to by blocking the search box and its quick access menu. I have already reported this bug via Proton Customer Support (request #2325002). I'm uninstalling this add-on.

:Note to PROTON: Please, learn how to simplify your approach to doing installs. I have had much difficulty with the VPN and it took me forever to adsorb most of what I need from your great Email app, but this Password Manager? Not so much!Antwurd ûntwikkeler
