PTQI - PeerTube Quick Import

A Firefox extension that imports videos from any web page into your PeerTube server. Press a keyboard shortcut or click the toolbar icon to queue the current page for import.

Usage

1. Open Settings (right-click toolbar icon or popup → Open Settings)
2. Connection tab - Enter your PeerTube server domain, verify, then authenticate with your username and password
3. Select a default channel for imports
4. Browse to a page with a video (YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, direct .mp4, etc.)
5. Press Alt+Shift+U or click the toolbar icon → "Import Current Page"

The extension extracts the video source from the page and sends it to your PeerTube server's import endpoint. The server downloads and processes it.

Connection

• Protocol selector - HTTPS (default) or HTTP for local instances
• Server URL - Your PeerTube instance domain
• Authentication - Username/password (OAuth2 password grant)
• Default Channel - Where imported videos land

Domain Aliases

Map alternative front-ends back to their original domains so the import finds the video:

• xcancel.com → x.com (Twitter/X via xcancel)
• nitter.net → x.com (Twitter/X via Nitter)
• invidious.example → www.youtube.com (YouTube via Invidious)

Add these in the Domain Aliases tab. The extension rewrites the target URL's hostname before sending it to PeerTube.
