Privacy Policy — Simple ChatGPT Live Usage
Last updated: August 22, 2026
Simple ChatGPT Live Usage is independently developed and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
Data used for the primary function
While ChatGPT is open, the add-on uses the user’s existing signed-in ChatGPT session to request the usage-limit information displayed by ChatGPT.
The request is made only to https://chatgpt.com/. The ChatGPT access token is held temporarily in the ChatGPT page’s memory, is sent only back to ChatGPT, and is never stored, logged, or transmitted to the add-on developer or another service.
Firefox therefore identifies authentication information as data required for the add-on’s primary function in its standard installation disclosure. After installation, no separate activation step is required.
Only sanitized usage information is passed to the extension: percentage used or remaining, reset timing, limit status, and available credit information when returned. The add-on does not read or collect conversation content.
Local storage
Firefox local extension storage is used for:
the latest usage percentage and reset time;
the most recent usage error;
the panel’s saved position, size, and full/compact state.
This information stays in the user’s Firefox profile. Firefox’s add-on removal controls can remove all locally stored extension data.
Support and advertising
The add-on contains no analytics, advertising identifiers, targeted advertising, ad-network scripts, or remote code. An optional sponsor line may display static text and an HTTPS link packaged with the add-on. It is clearly identified as advertising supplied by the add-on.
The support page does not contact Ko-fi automatically. Ko-fi is contacted only after the user deliberately clicks the external contribution button. Ko-fi’s own privacy policy then applies.
Changes and contact
Material changes to data handling will be disclosed to users where required.
Questions about the add-on can be sent to simpleusage@duck.com. Clicking the contact link opens the user’s email application; the add-on does not send messages automatically.
